  1. Sorry about the link I didnt know if it worked I have never used it . I like the colour of your S Type it really looks good and the leaper and the grill really makes it look great and finishes it of perfectly. Frank
  2. Hi Russ have you tried a reset -I know this is for the X Type but surely its about the same.??? Frank keyfob.jpg Programming or pairing a new remote Key fob for the X Type is a very simple job that will cost a substantial amount if it is done by Jaguar. It's annoying but this may need to be done if your Key fob battery has been allowed to go flat, or the car battery has been removed for any length of time. Follow these steps exactly and you should have no problems, pairing old or replacement Key fobs for your car. 1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide). 2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door. 3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I. 4.)Wait 5 seconds 5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times. (do this only once) 6.)You should hear a single chime. 7.)Remove the Key 8.)For each Key fob in rapid succession. Press any single button on the key fob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Key fob is paired with the security system. After the chime press a button on the next Key fob you wish to pair. 9.)On compleation after all keys have been programed, wait 3 minutes then check the operation of each Key fob by locking/unlocking the vehicle. Important Note :-All the fobs that you wish to use Must be paired at the same time. Every time you operate the key as in step 5 above the code will be changed, previously programmed fobs will no longer work unless you pair them all at the same time.
  3. Hi John --I still say check that its not the pedal its self where it swivels then if not change the master cylinder ??? Frank
  4. Hi John --Is the pedal hard to pull up or easy and does it drop down again or stay up .??? Because if its stiff I would say a drop of WD40 is the answer fist to see if its just the pedal thats tight.??? Frank
  5. Hi Paul Welcome to the club its nice hearing from you It would be nice if you could show us a few shots and please join in we are a friendly bunch . I think a wheel bearing could have a fault on any car after 8 yrs I think it just one of those things .??? And its good your getting it done before you purchase. The mileage sounds OK but before you buy have a good look under her and run a check on the past -MOT's that tells you a lot about the history of the car.??? You just need the Reg . https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=1.167145726.1398065124.1463749831 Frank
  6. Hi jason --I'm in full agreement with Steve on this you must have a good battery, cheap ones just do not do the job ??? I had one on my cat when I had it first and was adviced by someone in the club to get the correct size and the Iv'e had no more problems . Frank

  10. Hi Matthew I'm sorry I miss understood and now I realize you said the oil was sitting around the plug in its recess so it could be a leak as you said.?? But if I was you I would first --Fit a new set of plugs as one of the could be breaking down and causing a miss fire under pressure.??? Best of luck Frank
  11. Hi Matthew ---I think that the oil or wetness shows that-- that cylinder isn't firing and I think you should replace the spark plug and make sure you have a spark there.??? Frank
  12. Hi Steven I hope you didn't mind but I ran a MOT check on your new purchase and it showed its Never failed a MOT and as never had a advisory---Great car history . And she looks good " enjoy" Frank
  13. Hi Scott--I would say you are being fobbed off by that garage -A temp gauge is there to tell you the true temp of the engine so should start from cold and then show the temp as it warms up . and like Joe said i think you have a faulty gauge or perhaps a loose connection or faulty sender on the engine .???? You said the garage told you====they have said to me the gauge will do that as it returns to the temp it was at at the last time it was run. That is so funny I have not heard that one before .Ha Ha . I would go back Scott and be careful not to let the engine get too hot until its sorted. Frank
  14. Yes Joe the best advice is to return to the garage I agree. Frank
  15. Hi Joe in another topic Deborah also said ----------"We just had the springs and ball joints change and now the near side drive shaft had gone" ---- So you can nearly bet its the drive shaft I would say. Frank
  16. Hi Deborah ---It sounds as-though its still something out of balance.???/ You say the car is badly shaking ?? does the steering wheel shake in your hands or is it more of the rear end of the car etc --need more info so we can try and help.??? its not a 4 W D is it.??? Frank

  19. Hi Alistair, I,m sure you will find its all down to the fluid flywheel and if the engines hot it doesn't hold you as it does when cooler nothing to worry about some hold better than others .??? Frank
  20. Hi Ian Welcome to the club you will find there will be plenty of members only to pleased to help you. My advice is first of all before talking to a salesman is to check the MOT and past MOT'S using this link all you need is the reg--and make and it will surprise you.??? https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=1.167145726.1398065124.1463749831 All the best Frank

  25. Hi Andy and also do a MOT history check before buying to see what its failed on in the past etc -I checked one and it showed it was wearing tires out on the inside edge on both front wheels and failed every year on it -- https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=1.167145726.1398065124.1463749831 Frank.
