  2. Hi Reg I have one that I fitted myself and it looks great and more like a Jaguar if you know what I mean If you look under the bonnet you will see a hole as a guide in the strengthening bar "BUT" be careful as it may not be exactly in the middle of the bonnet so small drill first then open the hole to the center you will see what I mean it will only be about 1/8 inch out if that .??? Frank
  3. Hi David in my last post I said the XJ sounded good and now seeing the photo's I must say it looks really great I hope you enjoy it . Frank

Hi Steve -- I would really like to be there with you all but I'm afraid my wife is very ill and I cant be away very long perhaps another time --So my wish is that you all have a great time and we have plenty of photos to see after the event The best to you all ---I really enjoy the Club and Forum its a great way to keep in touch. Frank
  7. Hi Brian You have 2 things I think you can check===Are the 2 electric fans running all the time keeping the radiator too cool.???? They are controlled by a thermostatic switch.??? That would perhaps explain it getting cold after a short time.??? The other thing I think you should check is the pressure-type filler cap in the expansion tank --If this is faulty the water in the engine will not circulate correctly.??? Just a though I hope it helps. Frank
  8. Hi Paul Thats a good point you made there and sound advice . Frank

  12. Hi Keith--I agree with Peter the cover is there for a reason yes---- both for quietness and cleanliness and also to keep the air flow on the engine correct and things running at the right temperature. I don't know of ever being ask to remove for MOT's. Frank
  13. It looks really good --Job well done--go's great with the Red . Frank
  14. Hi Sue to me it sounds like fuel starvation so I would say check or change the fuel filters and make sure all fuel pipes are OK ---That would cause a miss fire and also restricted RPM I have known a flex fuel pipe to break up inside and cause this sort of problem .???? Frank
  15. Go all the way with Black
  16. Hi Rod---Do you get some quite heavy smoke from the exhaust then clears when 4th cyl comes in because I think you could have a dribbling injector ---Just a thought.??? Frank
  17. Hi Ashaunte --If your battery's OK and at full charge and when you turn the key and there isn't a click or anything I would think its the starter solenoid but first check the small wire hasn't come off the solenoid as that's the one that trips the starter . You will find the solenoid on the side of the starter. Frank
  18. Hi Steve -Ive seen this done that was red on a black car ---But i think Mat black would look great on your car ???? just a thought ???? like to see a photo when you do it what ever you decide . Frank

  23. Hi Dean---Sorry to hear of your problem just on Christmas First thing is to check for any leaks on Radiator or pipes on to floor .??? if theres no leaking it must be internal--Dip the oil to see if it has gone above the full mark???? start the car if it misses or will not run smooth .???? These checks need doing to see where the water has gone .??? with luck it will just be a leak. Best of luck . Frank
