Hi David I checked and cannot find the hub nut size I will try again "BUT" you do know that after you have removed a hub nut you should always replace it with a new one because it dosn't lock properly the 2nd time .????? New bearing ---New lock nut .??? Good luck Frank

Hi Colin I run a check on your problem and come up with this------ About the only thing that will cause a cruise control fault is a loose vacuum hose ussually on the breather hose coming from the valve cover in front to the throttle body. So I feel thats the first thing to check .good luck. Frank

Hi Martin What wheel was the sensor you replaced on because I had a very simular fault and it was the wire that go's from the sensor to just under the wing --about £4 from E-bay-- that was the problem .??? Frank

Hi Andrew A battery thats loosing its charge after just standing a week sounds as though it needs replacing .?? I'm saying that because things do start to shut down on a Jaguar if the battery is faulty and if you replace it make sure to get the correct size for the car .?? I think you will find the misfire will be a plug so if you do check them I would fit new to make sure.?? Peter has a S Type and will pehaps have a better answer for you.?? All the best with it. Frank

Hi David Could be the drive belt slipping at the front of the engine so I would check that first as it drives the power steering pump.??? It has a automatic tensioner so it may need a new belt .??? Frank

Hi David This is just my opinion--I think it would down rate your fuel and cause it to smoke so I would not use it . Frank

Hi Rod I also own a 02 X Type and I had to have my sills done Its not a cheap thing but I did save by buying the new sills from eBay and the garage I bought it from done the job and helped a little with the bill -so good luck on that . Frank -

Hi Darryl Sorry to hear that it did'nt cure things --The next thing I think you should check is all Earth wires .??? Because a bad earth could be the problem .?? I would also try to find out which relay is clicking because that is perhaps faulty or has a loose wire.??? Frank

If you have to have a new battery get the heavy duty the one that fits the case not a cheapy because it will last longer with out problems.?? Go to Halfords and get the 15% discount + they are very helpful and will give advice for the best one. Frank

Hi Darryl It sounds to me that your battery is about to go --A Jaguar starts to shut things down to save the charge to start the engine ,so first thing I would do is to get it checked. I had a problem for a week with door lock and lights coming on at odd times then one morning no start ==Battery dead== Fitted new and everything perfect.?? Frank

Hi Paul . A really nice looking X Type you have there. Your problem could be as easy as a plug or plugs breaking down and I think that and the fuel and air filters are the first things I would check.???? Frank -

Hi Alan---It sounds quite easy to change the Anti-roll bar bush's try this link and read :-- http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=41604 With the Shock absorber bush it has to be pressed into place it can be done in a vice if you know how .?? Frank

Hi Ron ---I'm sure you will find out that the twin cams are driven by a chain so not to worry. But you do have a -Drive Belt --that runs -= Generator Air-Con Power Stearing Pump. Best to check that from time to time .?? Frank
