  1. Hi Robert if you are talking of a auto gearbox and because you have to press the footbrake to move into gear's I would first try pressing the brake harder if this doesnt help it must be a sensor that the brake trips .???? Frank
  2. What a build really great to see all the photo's and I can see the work that gone into it You must feel good that its now coming all together and looking so fantastic . Frank
  3. I think Peter will be the best to answer this and he will tell you about Terra-Clean Sevices .???? Frank
  4. Hi Matthew I agree with Peter a new battery might well be the answer. :) If not something's on and running it down a trickel charger will add to your problem .?? Find out why it keeps going flat first .??? A good battery will perhaps cure all your problems because all sorts happens to a Jaguar with a dodgy battery. Frank
  5. Hi Jon Welcome happy motoring. Thats a nice color and looks really good . Frank
  6. It sounds like mixture at idle so I would say you have a small hole--a split pipe etc on the induction side so I would check that first .???? Frank

  9. I like it looks good--- years ago I had the same problem with dust and as you say dust proofing booths cost a lot of money ---I tried a set of curtains but after a few uses the dust was back again If you still have a small amount still on after the final coat.??? I found a good polish after it had weathered for a while was the answer .???? I really like the color and I think it will look fantastic when its all built up . all the best Frank

  16. Hi Sal I'm sorry they said that and as Peter said I think I would write to them explaining the problems then if they do not just check it over I would never go there again .?????? Surely it would only courtesy on there part to just check to see if it was there fault .???? Frank
  17. Hi Sal It sounds to me that when the service was being carried out someone could have moved some wires or connections on a sensor so its now giving trouble .??? I would take it back so they can check it if I was you I think.???? Happy New Year to you too. Frank
  18. Hi Peter Yes Peter but if its in the rear and it shows a rev change it must be the dif or something in the drive line ????? I would say.??? Frank
  19. Hi Shaun Can I just ask is your car a 4 WD I'm not really S types but if it is that clears things a little.?????? Frank
  20. Yes well said------------- "A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL"---------------- Frank
  21. Hi Sean I think you will find that happens to most cars with a elec fan ---The fan runs for a shot time after the engine has been shut off to cool things off , I would think about checking the thermostat or temp sender and conections first ???? Frank
  22. Hi Robert here's something I found that could help.??? 2005 Jaguar X-Type 2.0d - Jaguar diesel idling high, especially when driving - My Jag has a frustrating and dangerous problem. The idle speed increases when the car is in motion, getting up to 1500 rpm - which when in 5th means acceleration with no input from me! With the cluth depressed it drops to about 1000, and when the car actually is stopped returns to the correct 800 (with occassional surging) I have had the local garage hook it up to diagnostics but the car is clean with no codes at all. I cleaned the EGR valve myself and that made no difference. I would say the problem is worsening. Could this be a sensor? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Answer== Check your engine oil level isn't above the high mark. If ok, I would check the turbo oil seals arn't passing excessive oil. owner Unplugged the MAF last night - no change : Answer== Does that not tell you something. It could be that the MAF is faulty or that the wiring to it or the plug is faulty all three common problems on this engine.Having a faulty non operative MAF will give exactly the problems you describe. Then have a look at this???? http://www.oilem.com/tag/maf-sensor-cleaner/
  23. Hi robert you didn't say if its diesel or petrol if it was OK and it just started fast idle I would say its developed a air-leak on the induction side somewhere.????? Check all your pipes etc Frank
  24. I dont know if anyone else would agree but I think I would have the battery checked out .??? allsorts happens if they are on there way out . Frank
  25. Im really sorry Charlie has taken the Huff but making a statment that we all run bangers isnt nice !!! we all run what we like or what we can afford and some of the old cars are great all to his own .?? I liked his imput into the club as he alway gave his apinion and thats what life is all about we are not all the same . thank goodness. So all the best Charles. Frank
