  1. Thanks for that advice. My mechanic is find it difficult to find a non jaguar part. Original parts are expensive. Any suggestion of where I might find one? He is reluctant to order one unless certain its right.
  2. Hi, I did not get a chance to burn off the DPF when the amber warning came on. Now have a red warning and getting scary noise from my mechanic. I noted another topic mentioned that the innards of the filter can be removed. Any ideas about how to proceed?
  3. Hi, I had multiple engine, anti lock brakes, gearbox faults showing. My guy found that a low battery charge was the problem. Replaced and all sorted
  4. Thanks for that, I'll check it out.
  5. Hi all, I have a 2007 S type. Over time the plastic inner of the glove box has deteriorated to the point where the lock has broken free. Any ideas about where I can get a replacement. I tried ad hoc repair, but much of the plastic has disintegrated. Thanks in advance. Jimster
  6. Thank you for your advice, will check it out.
  7. Hi, does anyone know where I can get replacement central locking fobs for a 2007 model? The keys still work in the 'old fashioned way', but the buttons and internal switches do not, so I just half a key, if you know what I mean.
  8. Thanks Joe, The engineer who I have been speaking to used a diagnostic tool which gave him a number of codes. He is certain that the source of these is a abs wheel slip sensor. Fingers crossed that he was is correct as the part is expensive and only available from Jaguar. Jimster
  9. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Peter. I know it is some time since, but the problem did not reoccur until this past weekend. Finally got to the bottom of the mystery and found that it is a 'wheel slip sensor ' which fools the gearbox control, also came up as abs and dsc failure all linked to the sensor fault. Local wizard sorting it for me. Thanks again Jimster
  10. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Peter. I am not really sure if I can get the codes read without going to the main dealer in Belfast and if it will so the fault unless it is occurring at the time. I may give the Miller's a go. Am I right in thinking it is a general conditioner/cleaner? Thanks again Jimster
  11. Hi, Old Peter, I am a newby too and I have had an 2.7 S type for some years, and am very happy. I have been having a similar problem to John. It is occurring intermittently, usually on cold starting. Do you think that the treatment above will help? In N Ireland we do not have many specialist independent garages. Regards Jimster
