  5. Hi all, I've been in touch with my local Jag dealer today who told me the DPF wasn't introduced until 2007 on the stype diesel. If this is right then only the latest stypes where fitted with them. Regards , Gary.
  6. Hi Peter, It's just what I've been told by several owners so now I'm not sure. Gary.

  11. Good morning Peter, I've got question if you don't mind. My 2.7 diesel temp sits between 1/4 and 1/2 but I've read on the forum it should be on 1/2. Is this something that needs looking at ? The cars runs fine and the heater is getting hot enough it seems. Thanks for your time , Gary.
  12. Hi Peter , Thanks for explaining that for me. I will fill up tonight at my local shell station and let you know if my mpg improves. Regards Gary.
  13. Good evening, I know this topic has been discussed before but if somebody could explain to me in simple terms it would be appreciated. I filled my Jag up with supermarket diesel before I found out the car would run better on named brand fuel. Now I am due to fill up again and would like to know what the difference is and how the named brand is better. I got 32mpg on this tank of fuel which is more than I expected to get with the big cat. I travel 50 miles a day consisting of 36 miles motorway and 14 miles a roads/town centre traffic. Thanks for listening , Gary.
  14. Good evening Peter , The advice is very much appreciated as always thank you. No it doesn't have the touchscreen. Thanks again Gary.
  15. Good evening all, I have had my S TYPE 2.7 diesel auto for a couple of weeks now and I would like to know if the mpg trip can be reset so I can get a correct reading now I am using the Jag for work and I do 50 miles a day mostly motorway. The handbook says to always have the a/c and climate control on auto so it keeps the car at the correct temp and stops condensation building up. Can somebody confirm this or am I better to just use the heater as normal. The car is a real gem on the motorway , so easy to drive and it must be the most comfortable car I have had the pleasure to own. Thanks for listening, Gary. Proud Jag owner at last.
  16. Hi, I have picked my s-type up today and wow what a car. 80,000 miles and still drives like a dream. So smooth and silent you would really struggle to say it was a diesel. The only downside is one of the key fobs isn't working but at least that's the only problem I have found. I will read the manual for a couple of hours now to see if I can work out how to set the memory seats, pedals and steering column. Thanks for the advice it really helped my choose this wonderful piece of engineering Magic. Gary.
  17. Hi Peter , thanks for the info again. I should be picking the jag up on Saturday so I'll let you know how I get on and what I think of it. Regards , Gary.
  18. Hello again, just one more thing if somebody could please tell me what mpg I should get from the 2.7 diesel. Thanks , Gary.
  19. Thank you for the welcome Peter and the in depth advice on the jaguar. I will be trading my mini Cooper in for it because I do over 250 miles a week and the poor mini is clocking up the miles. That milage is mostly motorway so that should help clear the throat of the jaguar. Thank you again for taking the time to reply. Gary.
  20. Hi Trevor, thank you for your reply much appreciated. Gary.
