  1. I am a Rotarian; our 'logo' is a roundel, a wheel. I have produced the wheel to the correct size and given one to each of our club members to display where the tax disc used to reside. Perhaps others could do the same for an organisation they might be involved with to help promote that organisation. Shame to waste a great tax disc holder.
  2. I had a beautiful S-Type for 7 years until it developed a diferential fault. My dealer informed me that it was going to be very expensive to repair needing a new prop shaft, diff and drive shafts - almost as much as it was worth. They offered me what I thought was a good trade-in price for a 2½ year old XF in the same colour - red, which I just love. My wife and her cousin both previously said thay didn't like the look of an XF - "Doesn't look like a Jaguar" they said so I had stuck with the S-Type for all those years and would have kept it forever if it hadn't become BER. I must say it was a great move, 2.2 diesel, road tax £145, 57 MPG and fantastic technology which is great for a tech freak like me! What I am saying here is, that if the time comes for you to trade in your X or S-Type, embrace the XF, it is a fantastic car and I am so happy to have it.
  3. It WAS useful. thanks for that.
  4. XF Bonnet being resprayed today and mudflaps fitted at £90 per axel! Thanks for the suggestion, I hope it stops the sills getting so dirty.
  5. I would like to know how to sort the CDs alphabetically; there is no mention of this in my XF manual.
  6. The radio only remains on for 10 minutes; not a lot of good if you are parked by the sea and want to watch a DVD - or upload a CD.
  7. My 2011 XF 2.2 PL is able to store 10 CDs on its hard drive but it takes about 20 minutes to upload each CD which means the engine has to be running all that time otherwise the radio shuts off after a few minutes. Is this normal? I have over 90 CDs on a flash drive but only seem to be able to access much less than that. Is there a limit to the number the system can access? And can they be sorted alphabetically? That's three questions from a newby! Thanks for reading; hopefully someone will know the answers.
  8. A newby here. Just bought a XF 2.2 PL in red. I didn't examine it too closely (mistake) and now I find there are many chips marks on the bonnet (hood) which I didn't notice when purchasing it. I am having it resprayed first week of January 2015 and fortunately my dealer says he will help me out with the cost, whatever that means! I notice that, in common with others, the sills in front of the rear wheels are also particularly bad. I love the colour, I just wish I had been very picky before buying it. I am also noticing that the eco mode doesn't activate in the cold weather when the fans are working to heat the car. It seems as if the battery doesn't have enough charge to handle both because it works ok when up to temperature and charged. Is this common?
