  1. tonight was an exploration, see if it was as easy as the manual said.... hahahahaha yes ive been down a similar road before, now i've sussed it i can "just" do it tomorrow. Day light will help.
  2. Excellent! Thanks Trevor(s), I'll add it to my list of jobs to do in the morning. Ive been outside trying to replace the ineffective headlamp bulbs (Grrr) and its too cold to be out there for something so minor. So tomorrow's Jag list is... Swap headlamp bulbs, sort jack, swap CD player. I think the CD player may have to wait. Thanks again, Jim
  3. Hi, Well I have searched here and the internet. I have learnt the the jack location is awkward and a crazy idea. But i dont know how to store it. can anyone help? At the moment its in the foam tray under the boot floor, i know it goes under the spare wheel (space saver), but i dont know which way round or how the brace attaches to it. Ive spotted 2 marks on the jack that seems to show how far to open it so it fits under the spare. The screw for securing it was just laying under the spare so i dont know which of the 2 holes thats supposed to go in either. May not seem important but I like it to be right and not bounce around on bumps. does anyone have a picture of it in place? Thanks!
  4. Hi, Picked up the X-Type Estate 2.5 SE last weekend, never had a Jag before, needed an estate fancied something smooth, comfortable with some poke and some character so an X fitted the bill. I spent ages waiting for the right one to come along and here it is. It seems to have all the usual bits wrong with it, all minor, sun visors, parking sensors not working - controller very wet, spare wheel well was actually a well, rear glass not opening, flappy fabric on A pillars. But the spec was almost spot on, all the oily bits are good, drives spot on. And I'll enjoy fixing all the minor bits. This site has been a great help so far so i thought I'd register, say hi and thanks for the help. Ive also spent a lot of time on eBay but I dont know where to say hi and thanks on there! ;)
