its a door sensor, the bonnet has one as well so could be on the way out if so it will happen again, both the bonet sensor and the door sensors are located on the passangers front door also the bonnet passenger side at front next to hedlamp unit well they are on the xj

hi stuart if memory is right I remember reading somwer that if a battery reaches 11.5 or below then its done (stand to be corrected) so it sems that ither your needing a new one or put it on charge over nite that could be your problem or a fuse ect sorry not much help but atb joe

dave jaguar as well as the germans say the transmission oil is sealed for the life of the car, but a lot of members have had theirs serviced, at 60,000mls or so . getting the gearbox sump box ither replaced or cleaned and filter replaced, as far as I hear much smooooother normal costs about £300 mark

nigel, your car is now 10years old. old yellow bulbs ect you have to update to see and to be seen on the roads. get your self down to the local Halfords get the new ultra bright bulbs. the guys down their will help and fit them for you

dave avoid the supermarket stuff I have known folk getting trouble with that ie water in the fuel.
