  5. hi steve a bm I had many years ago had similar prob, it would cut out at times on start up. not being mechanical minded I took it to dealers whom fixed it. turned out to be fuel pump, but the service guy explained to me it can be crankshaft sensor or the fuel pump. mines was the fuel pump. you could alwas try changing the fuel filter see if that helps. joe
  6. hi pete. yeah know what your talking about. age&exp teaches us. I can honestly tell you I have never been in an Halfords or auto shop in my life. I have my car valeted every week. he comes to my home were I work from. other than that cars I have had its to the dealer ship. I have bought privately many times a good 2-3 year old car for lot less cost new. like my present and first jag keep them for 3 years then sell or trade in all are looked after . im a fussy bloke I work &party hard when got the chance. some would say lucky maybe right but hard work and investment has always been installed to me by my parents whom basically me and my sisters work for. but I work a 18 hour day most days 7 days a week. yes I get holidays due one in may. cant wait. joe
  7. yes pete your prob right. and every one to their own. I was only trying to advise mark as the others wer to, but mark has a beautiful f type only just turned a year old that im sure cost him a few bob. mine has only turned 2years old and I would not go to haldfords or any paint place for a touch up thingie for it not yet any way it would only be the main dealer for me as I have done in the past with a bmw I had . its down to personal choice. the main dealers prices for little things like that would prob be similar to Halfords I am to busy to go to one and tother to do a price comparison joe
  8. yes ken fully understand but mark has a lovely new f type better off not taking any chances, it comes from the factory to the dealers s will be perfect. wer as Halfords as you say MAKES IT UP FOR YOU now lets just say that little johnny that servs you that morning in the store has a stonking great hang over and makes a total balls of mixing it up. then you apply that to your new f type I for one would go round their and kill the little son of a b**** . dealers will be cheaper to I bet

  17. hi edd welcome mate. if your car is the 3 0 v6 s then I wouldn't say it needed a re map as its 0-60 in 5.9sec sorry just logged on after our busiest day off the year and up to my eyes in it. but have to admit I myself could be interest on this blue fin re-map if members can give more details joe

  19. bruce its prob on selected models ect normally its 1 year you would have to ask them
  20. hi john. again very sorry to hear about your motor. did you try to contact ryan hes on the jaguarforums.com site . but prob wont do anything maybe worth a try thou. it seems to be that jaguar have a lot to learn about customer service. its alright churning out new cars every ten mins. but not listing to your customers is very stupid. and as a business owner I know that. old saying comes to mind

  24. hi john welcome to the club I am quite new here myself. I like my jaguar 13 xj portfo im only in my 40s but I do a check on fluids ect every weeks or so. but very sorry to hear of your problem. looking at the past topics on hear and other websites it seems to be the : norm; for jaguar to distance its self from customers who are having problems. they tend to leave it to dealers to deal with. I recently posted a new topic on Friday about jaguar /landrover in china. quite a lot off customers ie 36,000 of them had complained to them regarding gearbox problems. jaguar did nothing so the customers got state tv involved. result jaguar land/rover are recalling them. if you go on to jaguarforum.com (much bigger site) and ask for ryan @jaguar or scroll throu the pages to find and you could contact him see if he can help. joe
