Would the navigation screen work with my 2003 S Type?
Raistlin replied to Ameh's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
No Ameh, the sat nav DVD module controls the touchscreen. You would need to go for a complete retrofit. Wouldn't be that expensive, Denis could probably supply all you need. -
Make sure you have your radio code if it's available. Always preferable to using the cheat method outlined in the document.

I just bought a set of four toner cartridges from an ebay supplier and when the package arrived there were only three cartridges. I asked the supplier about this and had the following reply. "We will require photographic evidence. Please send us, immediately, a photograph showing the missing cartridge." The mind boggles.

How do you get new keys programmed
Raistlin replied to Lewis Wetherall's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Same principle Ron. Scary to contemplate but actually no problem. -
How do you get new keys programmed
Raistlin replied to Lewis Wetherall's topic in Jaguar S-Type Club
Activating S-Type keys via SDD is a simple process Ron. As you say, it first of all removes any previous keys and enables two keys in less than 5 minutes. -
No.

Returning To The Jaguar S Type Fold

Looking forward to seeing some details Graham :) -
On the motorway this morning, I noticed a car some distance ahead suddenly erupt in flames and smoke. By the time I got there, several cars had stopped, as did I, and four of us used our fire extinguishers and hopefully managed to smother the fire under the car's bonnet. The car's driver, a woman of about forty, came to the front of the car when the fire seemed extinguished and said:- "Don't think I'm f&%^ing paying you for those fire extinguishers. I didn't f&%$ing ask you to to use them."

OK, this is NOT political and please don't make it so I just think it's so very funny... except that the chap actually meant it. In publicising this I make no indication as to my personal views on Brexit. However, this was the gist of a letter to my local paper last night:- 52% voted for Brexit and 48% voted against. Of all the potential voters though, 78% did not vote. This means that they are happy with the status quo and should therefore be added to the remainers vote. Is it just me that finds this so risible?

Just wanted to express my sadness at the passing of one of the greatest minds this country has ever produced. I've had the honour to speak with Professor Hawking on several occasions and have attended many of his lectures. This man had the extraordinary ability to take the most complex of of scientific and philosophical concepts and make them understandable for people like me. I doubt we shall ever see his like again.

If the external temperature is below 5 degrees C when you start up I'd initially think of Aux Heater fumes. If the temperature isn't low, I'd be looking at a fractured flexi in one of the exhausts.

Possibly the key may not have been coded to the car. Possibly fob battery needs replacing.

Jaguar is often shortened to Jag... which stands for.. Just Another Grand ;)

The whole job, start to finish, takes an hour. If you already have voice, even less.

Can you provide a photo of the touchscreen and what you call the on board computer box please?
-
It means that the loom is in place.

I'm a bit puzzled here Sue, as far as I'm aware, touchscreens were always part of the sat nav option. Hve you checked the DVD in the boot?

You have to pair from the car following the correct sequence. Is that what you did? ‘Pairing’ Your Phone Before use, your mobile phone must be connected or ‘paired’ with the vehicle’s Bluetooth system. Vehicles with touch-screen Follow these steps to pair your phone with the vehicle: • Switch the vehicle’s ignition ON (position II). • Press the button, to the left of the touch-screen. • Using the touch-screen keypad, enter the code ‘##1#*#’, then touch . • The message ‘Discover Me’ will be displayed, to confirm that the system is ready to pair with a mobile phone. • Switch on your mobile phone’s Bluetooth connection, using the phone’s menu.(See your phone’s manual for more information). • Select 'search for other Bluetooth devices' or 'Audio Accessories' from your mobile phone’s menu. • Select 'Jaguar' in your phone’s paired device list, in order to connect to the vehicle’s Bluetooth system. • Enter the Passkey on your mobile phone (the Passkey is 1313). • Under certain circumstances, the message ‘No BT Phone’ may be displayed briefly. • After a short delay, the message ‘Phone Connected’ will confirm that the phone and vehicle are paired. Note: • Once a mobile phone has been paired with the vehicle, the system will look for the same phone each time the ignition is switched ON. If no phone is detected, the message ‘No BT Phone’ will appear on the touch-screen to confirm that no phone is connected after approximately three minutes. • When a mobile phone is paired to the vehicle and the Bluetooth connection is established, one bar will be displayed next to the antenna icon. However, you will need to refer to your mobile phone’s display to determine the strength of the network signal. • If an incorrect Passkey is entered, your mobile phone should prompt you to enter the correct Passkey. • If there is a delay of approximately five minutes when pairing a phone with the vehicle, a screen with the message ‘Handset In Use’ may be displayed. If this occurs, switch the vehicle ignition to OFF and wait for at least five minutes before repeating

Have you got the phone module fitted? Does your bluetooth phone find "Jaguar" when the ignition is switched on?
-
I’ve sent Denis’s contact details via private message Noel Denis breaks Jaguars as a hobby and is a very good friend of mine. We tend to work together if club members need parts fitting, retro-fitting or diagnosis which we do free of charge.

Dis-connect the battery, ensuring you have the radio code, short the battery terminals together for 10 minutes. Connect a FULLY charged battery and follow the battery reset procedure. http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/12956-battery-reset-document/ That usually cures most glitches. If the same fault is still extant, let us know :) If necessary, I have a spare EPB module you can have :)

Denis has an s-type in for breaking if you want the instrument panel.
