  1. Trevor, Is the "small wiring loom" you mention attached to a small black plastic box roughly matchbox sized? Have you connected it?
  2. I suspect it needs connecting to the car's system using diagnostics then Paul. Maybe somebody local to you has the kit to do so. Or, alternatively, if you're in the Penkridge / Wolverhampton area, Denis or I can do it for you. Or, a dealer or indie will charge the thick end of £100 to do it.
  3. It might be that the audio system hasn't been made aware of the CDC Paul. You'll need a diagnostic session. Alternatively, the CDCs are not very tolerant of copied CDs. If you look through the gap on the right of the cassette, you should be able to confirm that the CD is loading properly. Has it worked previously?
  4. I believe it is but I'm not 100% The Jag Den, on this forum will know for sure. Perhaps send him a message?
  5. The rear parking sensor module is, I believe, under the boot floor on the left hand side. Might be worth checking for water ingress, check the connector is fully home or then try a substitute module.
  6. Denis (the jag den) has been providing parts for Jaguars for some years now and those parts are always below the prices you find on fleabay etc. He has assisted several members on this forum and has been a great source of parts for me as well. We have decided to throw in our lot together as this has been successful in the past. That is to say, Denis can provide parts and if you would like them fitted we can do so at no extra charge if you visit us at Penkridge (Staffordshire). Denis is the mechanical side and I tend to do the electronics. We have access to the Jaguar diagnostics software so can offer retrofits on X-types, S-Types and XJs but if you're just after parts we are happy to do that as well. If we have a specific car in for breaking we will put details in this thread. The free fitting only applies to club members and is a way of saying thanks for the help we've received from the club in the past.# If you are in need of a part, PM me or Denis and see what we can do for you :) This is not a commercial operation as we both have full time jobs.
  7. I have the same car as you Steve. I fitted the servo from a XF 3.0 diesel. It's identical to the S-Type diesel servo. Only cost me £30 from a local breaker's yard and hasn't missed a beat for two years.
  8. Thanks Peter :)
  9. Can you give us more details please Peter. I checked their website based upon the name you gave but the kit you used is not obvious.
  10. Any updates please Ron? There is a thread elsewhere showing them in use on an XJ. The light output looked amazing. However, they had to be fixed in to place with duct tape, a practice which I'm sure the average UK MOT tester might object to.
  11. That looks useful Brent :)
  12. Nice lights. Not too sure how a British MOT tester would react to the duct tape mounting though.
  13. OK. You're a bit far for me to do it for you :( If you're heading up the M6 in the future though it might be worth calling in.
  14. What's up with the CDC Gary?
  15. Hi, That's one very nice looking car. Very high spec as well. 16 function heated seats, sunroof, Homelink. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the car :)
  16. Four Mid / tweeter door speakers, sub woofer speakers and parcel shelf, amp,.
  17. Denis has sourced another complete Premium Sound system for the later S-Type. If you've ever heard the Premium system you will know it beats the socks off the standard system. He's offering it for £195 if anybody is interested and if it goes to a forum member he and I will do the complete installation free of charge, preferably in Penkridge or Wolverhampton or reasonably close. Installation, which will include modification to the fibre optic network (D2B), usually takes no more than two hours. The sub woofer parcel shelf is black. Anybody interested?
  18. Are these really plug and play Ron? I'm very keen to see if their beam pattern is reasonable through a standard halogen type s-type headlight. I've seen some downright dangerous beam patterns with aftermarket HID lights.
  19. Cheapest way is to splice another connector in to the D2B (fibre optic) loom as it seems to me that breakers charge a fortune for D2B cables. The voice module is the same across the S-type X-Type and XJ. As you say, dozens on ebay. Denis (the jag den) on this forum will be able to sort you out the module cheaper than any of the commercial breakers and I can assist with the D2B cable, either as a spliced connector or replacement loom , if it will help. Fitting is simple but you'd need a session on diagnostics unless the module you use exactly mirrors the kit in your car. Takes about 5 minutes.. If you were passing Wolverhampton / Penkridge way, Denis or I could do that for you.
  20. Opening an old thread, that would suggest that voice isn't fitted. Does the word "Mute" appear in the instrument panel message centre?
  21. Remove the screw you've already discovered. Then, with your fingertips or a SOFT plastic tool, ease the front of the housing downwards. It will probably be very stiff and may take a fair bit of grunt but please don't use a hard tool as it will damage the edge of the housing. Keep an eye on the local headlining in case it rips.
  22. Unfortunately, with Marion having just broken her hip (amongst other things), I'm not really at liberty to travel myself. Possible solution if nothing else comes up though.
  23. Would you consider Wolverhampton / Stafford to be local?
  24. Inside the fusebox Daryl, where the main 12volt bus comes in. Although Ralph's idea is easier if you can see the starter motor terminals, rather than splitting open the fusebox.
