  1. Even better :)
  2. If you have a spare battery, booster, or other 12 volt supply, you can connect it to the main supply under the bonnet (Fusebox) with the black lead to the bodywork. That will allow you to open the boot on the switch. PLEASE don't try and charge the battery at those terminals though. As soon as the boot is open, disconnect and charge the battery in the conventional way.
  3. If anybody else is interested, I've spoken to Ben Wilcox and he is trying to get the photos re-hosted in the near future. I'm certainly going to have a go at his mod as it seems relatively simple and not very expensive but with the ability to re-fit the OEM Jaguar stuff :)
  4. Ralph, Have a word with Denis (the jag den), He knows where there is one.
  5. Great write-up, except that Photobucket are playing hardball :(
  6. Still keen to see how this is done. If you replace a touchscreen you are going to lose all your climate control, heated screens, etc and I'm hoping there's a way around it :)
  7. Should do Joe. It's a copy and paste of the link you provided :)
  8. Link seems OK now.
  9. Please can we see pictures?
  10. Direct line maybe? Personally I get excellent deals, year after year with Sainsburys.
  11. My S-Type does the same during the hotter Summer days Stephen. A swift spray of WD40 followed by light oil into the pivot section of the mirror along with a few operations tends to sort it out for the rest of the year at least. The mirrors are notoriously difficult to dismantle so a more permanent solution would probably be replacement.
  12. If neither mirror operates I'd check the switch pack and relay first David.
  13. Pete, use yoiur phone in Bluetooth discovery mode with the car's ignition switched on. If the car has Bluetooth you will see "Jaguar" on your phone. You can retrofit Jaguar's own Bluetooth phone system quite easily of your car proves to be without. Retrofitting the touchscreen is possible but is a real pain in the a**
  14. Welcome to the JoC Tony :) The simple answer to your question is:- Stealerships are in it for the money, pure and simple. Forum members number one priority is love of the cars themselves. I've answered your private message and await a further reply from you :) BTW, not mandatory of course but we'd love to see your car's spec and photos :) :) :)
  15. Did you get the steering lock sorted?
  16. Sorted. It was the short loom from the back of the cassette down the steering column.
  17. SDD diagnoses driver's air bag.
  18. The wiring from the cassette to the airbag is integral with the cassette Joe so was changed when the cassette was changed. Hope to get the time to get SDD on it today.
  19. Thanks Joe but that is the same as Jaguar's own version. You get three sets of 1-9 before the light remains on for the rest of the time.
  20. Nothing yet. Haven't tried. SRS fault codes
  21. That's what I meant by 1-9 Joe. 1 Long and 9 short - indication front air bags or cassette
  22. My car has developed the infamous 1-9 SRS fault code. We've changed the clock-spring cassette, driver's air bag and passengers air bag to no avail. Any ideas please?
  23. There will be a manual key hole under the plinth to the near side. Key in vertically upwards, twist, open :)
