  1. No you're not Gary. I did tell you where to look yesterday mate.
  2. Hi WIlliam, It seems as though Joe has already answered all your needs elsewhere?
  3. It can be done William. Denis and I have done that sort of installation several times before. We can do the lot in half a day, along with loads of other retro-fits. There are several components, as you surmised, to be bought and the D2B fibre optic network cable needs re-working with the addition of several D2B terminals in the network. The electrical wiring will already be in place, although sometimes well concealed. Have you got a CD changer in the boot? This is a common retro-fit done at the same time as the Voice, Bluetooth etc. If you go ahead, do you intend to retro-fit yourself or will you bring your car to us? Denis (who breaks Jaguars) provides all the parts at considerably less than commercial breakers prices and we do the fitting, including any of the specialist SDD diagnostics that will be required, free of charge. Alternatively, Denis can provide the parts by post for you to do the installation yourself. Any help to you?
  4. Check fuse 3 in the under-bonnet fuse box David. Easiest way to disable a dodgy FBH :) If it's missing you can replace it. However, it will have been removed for a reason. Most usually because if the burner in the FBH isn't adjusted correctly, it produces masses of white unburnt diesel mist which, as previously mentioned, can be drawn into the cabin if the cabin air intake is not set to recirculating.
  5. Ah, right :) They must be optional depending upon territory then. That's interesting, thanks Luis. They certainly give your car a very different look to what we are used to.
  6. Those in the wing are definitely indicator repeaters. Having had both my front wings off recently I can confirm that :) I believe construction and use regulations require repeaters (where fitted) to be functional and to show light of the correct colour.
  7. This is identical to the automatic transmission problem which is quite common on later model S-Types. Surely Jaguar should have learned from and corrected this by 2010? The S-Type fault was known about from as early as 2004.
  8. If you do need a different d2b cable, I can probably assist Gary. Also happy to set it up using SDD if it is needed and you're in this vicinity.
  9. Hi Mike, Have a look Here and Here for a start :)
  10. Thanks Joe :)
  11. Who did you use Joe?
  12. This can sometimes be corrected by using the Diagnostic software to move the EPB to service position. It is also a good idea to go through the battery reset procedure which is outlined HERE The handbrake reset process, which is part of the above, usually settles things down.
  13. From what you've said Jodi, the problem lies with your amplifier. It is located at the top of the stack in the boot on the left hand side, where the Sat Nav controller is. If I were you I'd be checking the connectors on the amplifier. You will need to remove the trim panel to inspect properly. Where are you located?
  14. Do you Jaguar Voice and if so does it respond? Can you see the audio amp in "Mode" (ie, can you see a setting for sub woofers?)
  15. Have you got Alpine premium sound? Do you get audio from other sourses? Do you get the clicking sound when you use the indicators?
  16. There is a road speed sensing transducer on the steering rack which governs the effort provided to the steering depending upon road speed. Sometimes is causes problems. It is replaceable witout changing the rack.
  17. Form recent personal experience, perhaps THIS might offer a possible explanation?
  18. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all :) Good picture Joe :)
  19. Sounds about right Phil. Absorbent glass mat (AGM) batteries would be clearly identified.
  20. Depends upon which battery you have Phil.
  21. My solution is the same as Joe's, This LINK takes you to my own solution to the S-Type battery problem. It also links to show you what the C-Tek charging point looks like in my car
  22. Further to this spooky behaviour, apparently, if you try to start the car too soon (a couple of seconds) after switching off, the car's systems are in a sort of electronic limbo and become confused. I'll certainly remember that in future.
  23. Ask Denis (The Jag Den) on this forum. He's breaking X-ypes at the moment
  24. Very strange goings on with The Princess today. Parked, switched off and then a few seconds later re-started to move her slightly. Had all the fails, transmission, park brake cruise, traction, you name it. Switched off and on again, powerfolds retracted but other than that all ok. Switched off, went in the house for a minute and came back to find doors all locked with the keys still in the ignition. Other than that, sweet as a nut :) Not a battery problem as I put her on trickle charge regularly and a quick battery voltage test produced 12.4 volts off load. Spooky.
  25. An incredible amount Joe. The later bonnet weighs next to nothing compared to the steel one.
