    Was this sorted out Brian?
  3. Auto or manual Brian?
  4. It's always worth getting a quote from a reputable welder Gavin but I'd have to say that they are far worse than even mine were. Unfortunately, I am in agreement with Andy :(
  5. Easy enough Chris. Everyone I've done so far has had the wiring in place. In addition, the original door switchpack has had the folding capability built in. The awkward bit would be using the Jaguar Diagnostics (SDD) to tell the car they were fitted if you didn't have access to it. The software update itself with the SDD is simple and only takes 5 minutes. I've done it previously, beofre I got to grips with SDD, where the driver's door module from the donor car has been used but that gets a bit messy because you have to transfer the key fobs over as well.
  6. Having just completed this modification on one of Denis's cars, I'm amazed at the theoretical simplicity of the mod compared to, say, the S-Type which is considerably more complex. This is down to the fact that the X-Type double locking pulse from the General Electronics Module (GEM) is generated, not only when double locking is invoked, but also when the car is subsequently unlocked. My question is this:- Why is the double locking pulse produced when unlocking? The answer is not immediately apparent to me having looked at the wiring diagrams and I'm invariably curious when I don't understand things. Please can anybody assist?
  7. Philip, I have asked you to continue this discussion by PM if you felt it needed further comment. However, as you have raised further comment in public, I'll address your concerns. So, a comment suggesting a link might have been appropriate, or a more comprehensive search would have explained the situation in more detail. Certainly going in all guns blazing with an abusive (my opinion is subjective of course) post was, perhaps, not the ideal approach. No injured feelings :) I moderate on certain fora somewhat less tranquil than here, but thanks anyway. The idea of a link is one which, quite frankly, didn't occur to me, probably because real life was intruding and my time was limited. However, it is, undoubtedly, a good idea and one I'll address presently.
  8. Sacha, it sounds almost as though your CDC has become deleted from your car's equipment database, although I'm stumped as to why. Is there anybody near you who could attach the SDD (Jaguar diagnostics) and have a quick look? I'd do so myself but I'm probably a bit too far away from you. However, if you're heading towards the West Midlands, happy to help. Does your GPS still mute the radio when giving directions? Are you able to borrow a CDC and substitute it into your car.
  9. No worries Ryan. If you decide to upgrade to fully functional powerfolds, let me know if I can help :)
  10. Thank you for your helpful comment. The OP asked effectively the same question in two different places on the forum at the same time. I had the choice of deleting this thread or leaving it in case the OP should check here first, rather than his other post. I chose the latter as being the most helpful. Clearly, your own lack of an adequate search, before launching your unwarranted attack, has caused me to have to waste my time answering your tetchy comment.
  11. Doulbe-check your D2B (fibre optic) connectiond Sacha
  12. When asked by a colleague what car I drive I said "Jaguar" His further comment was... "Except when the Wife is in the car when it becomes a Naguar" Well.. It made I larf :)

  13. Anybody with the diagnostic software can program keys (imobiliser and fob function).
  14. I believe that I've answered this question HERE
  15. Yes. The folding function merely adds two wires to the connector. In fact, converting to folding mirrors is one of the simplest retro-fits on the X-Type.
  16. Hi Ryan Yes you can fit it. The mounting is exactly the same.
  17. Amandeep, The first thing I'd do is swap mirror with the other side. That would confirm whether the fault lies within the mirror assembly or the switching / wiring
  18. Hi Fabio, Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club. Nice to see you found us. Keen to hear about your projects. Hoping you'll have any questions answered as well. Good luck with your Bluetooth retrofit :)
  19. Hi Amardeep, Welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club :) Excellent idea to check your sills. I very nearly lost my S-Type owing to the advanced state of corrosion in my sills. Luckily, I had access to a superb welder who brought her back from the brink but it cost me just over £600 to do so. The sooner you look, the better. Fingers crossed for you :)
  20. I agree with Gar'y suggestion. The sill covers need to come off Gavin. The little scrivets undo from beneath the sill, along with those securing it at each eand in the wheel arches and then they can be gently pulled off the car.
  21. Chris, Sometimes, it helps, once you are in position, with the door closed, to press the memory number button which is NOT your seat position and then press the button which IS your button. The seat moving slightly away and back seems to jog the memory and then the seat, column, and pedals should then auto retract when you remove the ignition key. Doesn't always work but does on my car 90% of the time.
  22. I binned mine for the same reasons that you are considering Brian. Never caused a problem thereafter.
  23. Gary, Have a chat to Denis (The Jag Den) on this forum. I believe he can help :)
  24. OK Yemi, It's good to hear that the seller is dealing with it for you :)
  25. Hi Yemi If you tell us what's the matter with your car, there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum who might be able to help
