  1. No Gary, the D2B can be in any order, providing you have the first connector to the loom which runs to the front of the car and that all connectors are populated.
  2. I've used that Wynn's stuff as well and it certainly seemed worth the effort Steve. I still intend to take them apart and clean them properly (as it were) so will watch your experieinces with interest.
  3. In fact, I was hoping you'd produce one Steve
  4. Perhaps you'd consider making an illustrated "how-to" to Steve?
  5. The module relies upon the presence of a D2B optical network Jolly, which I understand is not present in earlier cars. At the moment then, I'd have to say no... but never say never.
  6. Well, Jaguar recommended 105000 miles and you can bet that was an underestimate Having said that though I think they also suggested ten years if that was reached quicker so either way getting close.
  7. 105000 miles Ian, so pretty close
  8. Any updates please?
  9. Ooops. Three Letter Acronyms abound Original Equipment Manufacturer. Used in the context above that a properly installed retro-fit would be indisitinguishable from a car which had it fitted from the factory.
  10. Retro-fit means to install a function, possibly on the options list, which wasn't on your own car to begin with. The idea is to make it as OEM as possible.
  11. I spent today driving a Ford mundaneo for a colleague at work. Low spec example as well, it was. What a pleasure to get behind the wheel of The Princess for the drive home from the University. Nothing like driving a, frankly, grossly inferior car to make me appreciate the S-Type even more.
  12. Personally Steve, I leave my A/C on permanently and let the climate control do its own thing.
  13. Gary, please PM me your e-mail address. I want to send you some installation documents for your retro-fit. DOn't worry, I'm not going to abandon you to sort it out for yourself. They contain some good line drawings of locations though.
  14. To be fair, that's only one possibility, although common Amal.
  15. Have a word with X Type Den on this forum, whom I happen to know has some powerfold mirrors available They only take ten minutes to change. squeaky brakes might be as simple as needing some copper grease on the back of the pads.
  16. Then it is doable but a big task David.
  17. Welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club Mark. Sounds like a nice car you have there. I too am driving my first Cat and I too wish I'd started years ago.
  18. Mike, Once they start moving, I should follow up with a little oil. Engine oil is fine. Mine were treated to WD40 and also Lithium grease on a regular basis but my near-side mirror always took several attempts to get it moving in hot weather. I used a little engine oil quite some time ago now and they've worked perfectly ever since.
  19. Does it have a touchscreen David?
  20. Thanks Joe, I wasn't aware of that. It would be a fair bit of the retrofit done then :)
  21. If it doesn't have sat nav I'd expect it not to have the touchscreen Joe
  22. If you can get a tank-cutter, it makes a superb, and controlled job of making the required hole Andy. If you were unable to obtain a tank cutter kit locally I could lend you mine. I used it to do the Leaper on The Princess and it worked perfectly.
  23. Hi Kevan, Welcome to The Jaguar Owners Club. I've bought parts from you in the past and was more than happy with your helpful advice.
  24. Not to my taste... but each to his own
  25. That's one tidy looking motor Frank
