  1. That's where I got mine from as well Jimmy.
  2. Thanks Joe.
  3. The fault display is permanently there Joe but I've come to the same sort of conclusion as you. We have a spare actuator assembly so will swap it out.
  4. Sorry Joe, didn't make myself clear. I can see all the options, just don't know what they all do.
  5. On the message centre display Joe
  6. No fault code Joe
  7. Welcome to the Jaguar Owners Club chaps Pretty amazing bunch of enthusiasts on here who seem perfectly willing to assist where possible. Some of them actually seem to know a thing or two as well Photos are not compulsory but we all like looking at well turned out Jaguars
  8. OK, This is beginning to annoy me now Not my car but, EPB reports a permanent fault. However, it performs faultlessly. Changed the EPB module, EPB switch. The servo is working fine, tried battery reset. Still getting the annoying caption. Does anybody have any ideas please?
  9. I'm not aware that having touchscreen was a prerequisite for premium sound when specifying the S-Type from new Simon. The twin screen models have provision for CDC so D2B would not be a problem. Presumably there would be some sort of display on the twin screen models for adjusting the sub base and for DSP. Every late model car I've looked at has the loom but I have to admit that they all have had touchscreen as well.
  10. I shouldn't have thought so Simon.
  11. Does anybody know what the dealer options for the S-Type actually do please? I was looking through them in SDD and some of them are not obvious. For example, what is:- "dual electronic climate control moisture purge activation" ? Thanks
  12. We were sat in Sainsburys cafe having lunch today. One of the other customers whom we know brings her son in and he suffered a certain amount of brain damage in a car accident and so is sometimes a little louder than he might otherwise be. Lovely lad though, and sharp as a razor. Today his Mum left him at a table whilst she went to the counter and he decided to have a singalong to himself. Now, the chap opposite me had been there for a while and was clearly disabled in as much as he was in a wheelchair and, whilst being able to communicate and enunciate perfectly, if a little too loudly, was unable apparently to stop himself drooling. He turned to look at the lad who was singing, and to my surprise, began cruelly to mimic the lad, followed by a comment about letting spackers (sic) out on their own. I found that dreadfully sad.
  13. I'm with Joe on this one. That circuit diagram is relatively simple to work through I'm also well aware that some garages, even those who are brilliant with mechanical things, shy away from anything electrical for some reason. Personally I like electrics... you don't get your hands dirty and oily
  14. Steve, I can't see how the procedure would foul up if you followed the instructions but even if it should do so, all that would happen is that you'd need to use your keys to manually lock and unlock your car. Oh, and there's nobody more "scaredy-cat" than I am... That's why I practice on other people's cars
  15. Yes to each of your questions SImon.
  16. With version 130, you can do stuff without requiring an internet link to toPix. Your car, being a 2001 model will use IDS rather than SDD.
  17. It was a complete OEM premium sound retro-fit Joe. Amp, 2 sub speakers, 4 mid range and 4 tweeters plus parcel shelf
  18. Would anybody be prepared to let me borrow their XF sat nav DVD module for a short time please. I'll only need it for 30 minutes at most
  19. Yes it will Malcolm. I'd have to say that you can get it considerably cheaper elsewhere though. The 2012 version is the last one they did for the S-Type / X-Type.
  20. I helped Denis retro-fit premium sound in Stacey's car today. What a heck of a difference it makes to the quality of the sound when you consider how ridiculously easy (most of) it is to install. Denis had already sorted out the sub speakers when I got there and the rest of the installation, including the manufacture of a bespoke D2B loom, only took an hour, including the installation of the all-important ALPINE badges on the front door speaker grilles. That premium sound system really does improve the audio experience. Anything from opera to Bhangra Again, if anybody is contemplating this retro-fit and has any questions, just ask away
  21. ... and further still. Successfully managed to program key fobs to a Jaguar S-Type today . Understandably somewhat nervous as before you can add key-fobs you have to delete all key-fobs. However, it went very smoothly. Also had a good tinker around in the dealer options and changed a few of those around as well Small steps
  22. Thanks Ian

To be honest Dan, I have no idea either
  24. Yes. They never admit anything of course, but free replacements sort of tells the story.
  25. Now that looks well worth the effort Ian. Thank you for the photo. Would you have any links to where you got them please?
