  1. Well, fitting the socket took a few minutes I do like the way Jaguar include little things like having the wiring already in situ. Unfortunately, there is no power to the ignition controlled wire :( Relay 10 in the boot fuse box and fuse 32 in the footwell fuse box seem to be the obvious candidates. Unfortunately, it's hissing down here (would be of course, this being August Bank Holiday weekend), so diagnosis will have to wait until tomorrow.
  2. Well, yes, I did try that before mentioning it here. Perhaps you'd be helpful enough to provide some links please Robin? Clearly I've not used the right search parameters.
  3. Hi Stan, thanks for the info. My main concern is the possibility f damaging the paintwork if I attempt it single-handed Unfortunately we are a considerable distance apart, me living in Wolverhampton. I need to get my bumper off to retro-fit headlight power wash.
  4. Thanks Harvey:)
  5. OK Phil - thanks.
  6. ... to pluck up the courage to remove my front bumper. Has anybody done this task please? Is it as easy as it suggests in JTIS and, more importantly, is it a job that one man could do without scratching paintwork? Any info gratefully received.
  7. Do these products not leave swirl marks on your paintwork?
  8. I'm putting my ZyXel NSA325-v2 NAS up for sale. It is only a few months old and will be perfect as a starter NAS if you want to use RAID or separate disks. It would be equally at home if you already have a NAS but want to expand your storage without having to replace your present NAS disks with ever bigger capacity. I use it as a media server to stream HD video all through the house and as a component in my inter NAS backup and it does everything I ask of it. THIS is the item in question and it retails for around the £100 mark. This NAS was exceptionally simple to set up and has been perfectly reliable. At the moment running with two 4TB drives (not included). Needless to say, it is in perfect working order and complete. The only reason I'm upgrading is because I need more space and I'm not prepared to pay the price asked for 8TB drives so I'm going for the four bay version of this device. Anybody interested for £55 plus postage?
  9. No instructions Russ but fairly intuitive :)
  10. The process of pairing and unpairing takes a certain amount of time Joan. If the ignition is switched off and then switched on again beofre the shutdown is complete, the phone will work but you will see the caption "Registered" on the display.
  11. You're right Russ. Your present bonnet badge is fitted through a hole in the bonnet which is in precisely the right place for the main fixing of the leaper. There is a small spigot further back for which you would have to drill another hole which is designed, I think, to keep the leaper base straight. That hole would not be essential though as you could saw the spigot off if you wished. The leaper does have an adhesive pad underneath to hold it in place while you tighten the fixing nut. Personally, I didn't have a problem with drilling the second hole as the spigot is some 5mm in diameter and the base at that point is roughly 12mm so plenty of room for error if necessary :)
  12. Spring loaded, reversible and 5" Russ. Not £15.99 but £19.99. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-Badge-Leaping-Cat-Mascot-BOXED-CHROME-5-BRAND-NEW-LARGE-CAT-BADGE-BONNET-/291547210808? The seller is playing a dodgy game though. They started off at 18.99 and he keeps putting the price up. Top quality chrome-plated brass though. ALSO, don't assume the drilling template on the inside of the bonnet is accurate. Mine was, but I looked at Peter's yesterday and it was way out.
  13. Mine is a bolt on version and cost me £15 from fleabay Russ. Be careful though because the exact same one is on fleabay elsewhere for up to £50
  14. Have you been able to pair Joan?
  15. OK Joan, it's en route. Please let me know if I can be of further help :)
  16. Yes Joan, It is in your Bluetooth manual and also in your car's main handbook. If you have neither of these let me know and I'll e-mail them to you.
  17. No Andy. They are for different model years. If you move your mouse over each one in turn you will see the full filename at the bottom of your browser.
  18. OK Thomas, I'll have them in the car :D
  19. I think that, once you get the lid off and see how it's secured, things become easier the next time.
  20. I certainly am Andy. I think it suits the S Type admirably. No drama drilling the bonnet either. Small pilot hole, then a tank cutter - simples.
  21. Got one :D £20 including three times as many clips as I need. Almost perfect condition.
  22. Thanks Andy. Saves me running in extra wiring.
  23. I've just been told that there is an auxiliary power supply connector hidden behind the off-side boot trim panel. Can anybody confirm that please?
  24. I think there are several people interested in how the stick-on version fares Tom.
