Sorry for the somewhat abbreviated post yesterday Kim, but I was using my phone and the size of my finger tips is such that typed communication is a bit of a hit and miss affair. :) The Jaguar implementation of iPod audio integration is called the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM), and fits in the centre console cubby hole on the S Type (and X Type as well). It requires the CD changer (CDC) to be fitted and functioning before it will work. Once fitted it provides an integrated link with all the other D2B networked items, ie. Jaguar Voice, Bluetooth Phone, Sat-Nav, audio, Touchscreen etc. You can connect an iPod or a USB stick or an audio item which uses standard phono type connectors. It provides reliable, if somewhat rudimentary control of the iPod from the touchscreen but the latest version of the firmware also allows for control of the iPod directly, even when connected to the ACM. Although it uses the CDC link to the system, the CDC is still available if required. It costs an arm and a leg but, in my view, there isn't yet a viable alternative. I've tried the FM link devices but have never been satisfied with the sound quality. Also, for me, the tight integration with the rest of the Jaguar system makes it worth considering. Very easy to fit. Takes about 30 minutes, depending on how easy you find it to thread three wires through the centre console to the back of the head unit :) I hope that puts a little meat on the bare bones of my previous post :)
