  1. Photos will be available as soon as I get my camera back from my granddaughter :)
  2. Hi Thomas, welcome to the club :) From what I understand, you get the "No phone" indication continuously? Can your phone detect the car's Bluetooth? If so, the problem is likely to be the Portable Support Electronic Unit, AKA the phone module. If you can't detect the car's Bluetooth then I'd suggest the Bluetooth module itself is at fault. If it is the Bluetooth module, I have one lying around here somewhere. Are you sure the kit was fitted to your car? If not it's no biggie to retro-fit.
  3. A bit too late now, I know, but the services of an escrow provider might have been worthwhile?
  4. Well, they've arrived. They work perfectly :) No more umbrella bouncing around in the boot :D
  5. Hmm... another problem that nobody has a clue about then? :)
  6. There is a plethora of info regarding programming of Homelink on t'internet but not quite the problem I'm having at the moment. My Homelink was trained perfectly to the first channel of my remote and then synchronized with the rolling code in channel one of the receiver. So far, so good. The Homelink then trained perfectly to the second channel of my remote using one of the unused Homelink buttons, producing the characteristic rapidly flashing light. However, it will not synchronize with the rolling code from the receiver, no matter what I try. I have the same problem if I completely delete the links in both Homelink and the receiver and then try using different Homelink buttons as the first and second channels. From this, I deduce that all the Homelink buttons are active and programmable. Unfortunately, I cannot fathom why I should be having difficulty synchronizing a second button. Does anybody have any clue please? Or is there an alternative method of synchronizing? I followed the instructions in the manual and the first channel worked perfectly. I've tried various combinations of the number and duration of Homelink button presses. Please, can anybody assist? Thank you
  7. I managed to get it linked and working without a problem Graham and, as you say, do not allow internet connection for obvious reasons. What I wasn't sure of is the hype, mostly from those with an axe to grind, it has to be said, that nothing can be done to change or update anything without the internet link to Jaguar. Perhaps I should take a deep breath and try changing something. I'm very familiar with the T4 system for MG/R cars and have seen one or two cars bricked by well meaning but misguided individuals :( Again, apologies for the continued hijack. Perhaps I ought to start a separate thread.
  8. Thanks Graham. There is a lot of hype about the clones not being able to do anything other than read. I had wondered whether that was true or not. Clearly, it isn't. I have a clone Mongoose and, like you, I'm somewhat nervous of using it. Do you need to be connected to internet when using it please? Any tips please? (Apology to OP for hijack.).
  9. Please can you let me know, is that a genuine Mongoose Graham, or one of the clones?
  10. Thanks Phil.
  11. Whats the ebay link please Phil ( PM me the link just in case you're not keen on broadcasting it) :)
  12. Oh I say, doesn't this look fine and dandy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYPE-SAT-NAV-TOUCH-SCREEN-WITH-CASSETTE-PLAYER-/191585806589?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c9b6768fd Slight damage to the cassette part but you'd bin that in favour of the CD player you already have. BTW, if you DO get this, I'll buy the lower row of buttons from you :)
  13. Useful link Andy :)
  14. Yes Phil
  15. Then I think you're in business :) I've never seen one but I understand the really early cars, with the cassette storage, had analogue climate control.
  16. No, That's a digital setup Phil. Do you have a CDC button on the radio?
  17. Not saying it can't be done... but wondering whether it would be worth the time, cost and effort Phil?
  18. I take it that means you have analogue climate controls?
  19. Phil, I just checked up on what I thought might be the biggest problem with retro-fitting sat nav and I got the best answer back Do you have the digital climate controls or the manual knobs? If digital, the touchscreen operating system controls everything perfectly and I'd suggest you go for Bluetooth and Jaguar Voice as well If analogue climate control, to be fair, I'd forget it... at least for the time being :(
  20. Yes Phil, each module must be in the network topography for the system to work so you'd either need to get a cable with the correct number of connectors or modify one that you might already have. Retro-fiiting touchscreen would be an ... interesting project Eminently do-able though, I would think. I'd need to do a bit of research to be sure.
  21. Crikey Phil. One thing at a time mate Only joking. You'll need the GPS aerial. You intend to go completely touchscreen?
  22. You'll need an appropriate D2B cable Andy, either buy the correct item with three ends or buy a two ended cable and modify your existing one.
  23. In the words of the old American Express advert:- "That'll do nicely" :) You can see a very clear picture of the connectors, showing the D2B connector and the small power connector to the left of the D2B. That will give you an idea of what to look for in your boot Phil. Another one to watch:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-X-Type-Boot-Mounted-6-Disc-CD-Changer-1X43-18C830-AB-/121659469466?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c53782e9a
