  1. Do you have to scrub it into the stitching Ron? I'm always nervous of putting too much pressure on.
  2. Hi all, I've read the posts, here and elsewhere, about the care of leather interiors but I have a specific question:- the outside bolster on the driver's seat is showing signs of grubby discolouration on the stitching. A common area for concern as it gets rubbed everytime the driver gets in and out of the car. I've tried Glyptone, Autoglym etc, and whilst they are good at general cleaning and care, they haven't been effective in this particular area. Any ideas please?
  3. I think I'm gonna have to learn this game of golf... AKA "Swish bugger it".
  4. Nothing wrong with saving money Mike... now then - add SNG Barrett to my list... <_<
  5. Well, that was a pleasant job :) These Jaguars are screwed together well. CDC worked straight away without needing to program and I was able to confirm that I do have a phone module. Saved a few quid by being able to cannibalise D2B lead to install the CDC in the D2B loop as well :)
  6. Banter??? I was being serious...ish Kenny ;) I didn't realize that there was a hidden expense in buying a Jaguar, to whit:- sets of clubs, golf, for the use of, one. Now I know why there's that little hatch from the boot to the cabin.
  7. I have discovered a potentially dangerous steering fault with my new S Type. It seems to want to turn into every golf club it passes ;)
  8. Mike, It's XR812941. Watch out though, some retailers are selling them at £22 each, whereas a more realistic price of £1.91 can be found at JustJags http://www.justjagsuk.com/product_details/-Jaguar-S-Type-X150-X350-X351-%28new-XJ%29-XF-Clip/6444/138528/?model=&q=812941
  9. Thanks Peter. I've just been given an EPC so I was able to find the part number and order some from Just Jags.
  10. Thank you Peter, they are circular, roughly 20mm in diameter and have a raised cross on top to assist in gripping them, I think.
  11. Hi all, I'm awaiting delivery of my Jaguar EPC but in the meantime I wonder if anybody could help with the following? There is a plastic cover on the S Type which goes across the front of the engine bay over the top of the headlights. This panel is held in place by plastic "widgets", one at each end and two in the middle. Please can anybody tell me what the middle ones are called or, better still, provide a part number? Thanks Rgds Paul
  12. Three different phone types produce the same result. I'm even considering giving the car to my local dealer for diagnostics.
  13. Try a different phone model. I should have thought of that ;)
  14. Thanks Peter. I'm getting next to nothing so clearly a blockage somewhere as the pump runs as it should.
  15. OK, I've had my car's spec from Jaguar and it clearly states "Bluetooth telephone connection". There is definitely a Bluetooth module in the car as my phone finds it, called "Jaguar", however, contrary to what i believed, my phone does not pair. There is no telephone module in the boot where it would normally be situated above the Sat Nav DVD. Now, why would somebody have the Bluetooth module but not the Telephone module? If anybody has the telephone module in their S Type PLEASE can you take a look and let me know the Jaguar part number? Thank you.
  16. Thanks Andy, That was very useful. However, amazingly, I phoned local dealer and they were happy to send me the full information by e-mail, direct from their system :)
  17. But do you get screenwash fluid all the time you are pressing the button Peter?
  18. Wolverhampton Ken
  19. Wow - two motors where most other manufacturers rely on one? I'm even more pleased that I bought this car :) Thoughts continue regarding remote folding Kenny. Maybe we'll get there between us. Thanks for your help so far.
  20. Are they separate forward and reverse motors Ken, or a single motor with reverse polarity?
  21. My S type has the later screenwashers which are attached to the wiper arms. When I press the screen washer button the wipers sweep three times but I only get a tiny little jet of screenwash for about half a second. Can anybody tell me if that's right please or should the screen wash spray out all the time I'm holding the button in? Thank you
  22. No Kenny, if somebody else has used the car and adjusted the mirrors, they will return to the original memorized position. Remote folding is something I'm actively looking into at the moment ;)
  23. As a matter of interest, please does anybody have a reference number for the CD changer cartridge which fits the optical type CD changer? I will need several cartridges and certainly don't want to pay circa £45 for each one so would want to trawl fleabay for suitable items.
  24. No questions this time, just a gasp of amazement, as it were. Just as I was getting used to my car's seat, steering column and pedals taking up their pre-determined memory position when I get in the car, I've now noticed that the mirrors do likewise. We are surely cosseted beyond measure in these cars :D
  25. Is that the power lead you mean Andy or the optical lead?
