  1. I had them on my 3.0 petrol and they sounded sweet at cruising speeds and throaty when the horses were unleashed!! Nice on motorways too. Not overly loud. I now have them on my 2.7d and they sound sweet at cruising speeds and throaty when the horses are unleashed!! Lovely and quiet on the inside on motorways too!! And, more importantly, they look good!! Better than the black painted tips on the old boxes!
  2. Mine too, seems we bought the same one!!
  3. A good service?? 10 to 15 is 4.2V8 territory so something's wrong. I used to get 25 with my old '99 petrol and 35+ on a run.
  4. It looks good!!
  5. What is it actually made of??
  6. Our old Bluetooth equipped vauxhall mokka used to do it with my phone nav app.
  7. I have powerflow boxes on mine, brand new eBay bargain of £75 the pair!! Guy had them on his 4.0 but didn't like the sound!
  8. I'd be concerned about the state of your discs too!!!
  9. I wouldn't drive or use it until both problems are fixed. Aircon pump, sound to me the clutch has seized. Only fix is to replace and regas, has the aircon ever worked?? Rad fan, Just checked mine, it doesn't spin by hand.
  10. I don't think there's any difference between mk1 and "facelift" cars sub frames as jaguar carried the same suspension on into the early XF build. My advice would be to purchase a subframe off a later car as I think it's more an age related fail than better built/designed frames. If you can find one then I'd suggest getting it powder coated.
  11. If you can get it up on ramps check the unions going into the steering pump then the rack, also have a look at the pipes. It may just need nipping up a bit, you never know.
  12. H.A Fox were the supplying dealer for my car. Very helpful dealer when questioned about my cars history!! Sounds like it could be a seal, have you anyway of getting it up in the air to check?? Oh.... Welcome by the way.
  13. It must be MP3 CDs I'm thinking of.
  14. Mine has dpf and as long as you know about and utilise the regen cycle there not problematic. The early XF's are S types underneath and the same engine. Seen a few XJ's but think it's too much like an X type.
  15. Don't think changers can play burnt CDs. May be wrong though.
  16. Yes, that's the kit although not the kit if you want steering wheel controls. Removing is dead easy, unclip the leather trim ring around radio and randle handle by simply pulling then you'll see the bolts holding the unit in. You say the changer is skipping? Do you mean the boot changer or the cd slot in the radio??
  17. Had a trip out to a large car supermarket based in winsford, Cheshire yesterday where your not bothered by salesmen and are allowed to get the keys for their cars and take your time choosing the right car for your needs. They had a 08 XF 2.7d in stock so we got the keys and had a good look inside and out comparing it with my 06 S type 2.7d which I've always said would be my step up jaguar. How disappointed I was. Apart from the revolving air vents and the pop up gear selector it just didn't feel all that special. The interior didn't feel "jaguar" unlike the traditional styled S type interior and only the growler in the steering wheel gave any clue to it being a jaguar, cover that up and we could've been sat in any other mainstream car manufacturers vehicle!! The styling from side on looks almost like the vauxhall insignia we had a couple of years ago. The boot, although bigger than the S type, seemed smaller due to the smaller opening. All in all the more we sat in it the more we liked our S type. Think I'll be keeping my S type for longer than I planned. Anyone agree??
  18. I use autoglym super resin polish then autoglym protect stuff on top Brings it up lovely!!
  19. Keep looking, there's plenty out there. Jaguar never made an estate S type but I've seen this on the net.
  20. 51psi is the maximum pressure as tested by the factory. Some truck tyres are tested to 200psi !!! CD player could be bust, if you haven't got satnav you can replace it with a "normal" radio or if you want originality there's loads on eBay. My temp goes to the middle and no further. Rattling could be a heat shield or similar. Parrot system is the one to go for if standard Bluetooth isn't fitted so result!!
  21. I think you have to take out the centre consol between the seats and its screwed to that from underneath. I didn't know this until I went to a breakers for one as my lid wouldn't close, all I did was put a flat screwdriver under the lip and lever it out, breaking the tabs where the screws go through. Fitting it into my car was a case of putting it into the hole and letting gravity take its course!! There will only be codes if the eml has been on or is on. When was it last serviced??
  22. Have you tried searching with your Bluetooth function on your phone??
  23. I use torque and dash command with no problems
  24. Mine connects straight away. Have you got the ignition on or engine running??
  25. Not really into moaning about a garage unless it's something dangerous and life threatening. I can only assume the mechanics couldn't get the lid off so left it. Apart from this minor blip the dealer I bought the car off went above and beyond with the sale anyway due to the finance muppets!!
