  1. What would be the point of having a satnav instruction being spoken at the same if not quieter volume than the music being played???
  2. I've replied to your pm.
  3. In that case it should just unscrew like you say. Is there a lock nut underneath it?? If there is just back that off then give it death as it'll be stuck tight!!!
  4. Is it an auto or manual stick?? If you have the new knob that should offer some clue as to how it fits!!
  5. Thanks guys.
  6. Does this passenger wiper sit too high??
  7. Well that's just a poor poor job!!
  8. Have you tried a new fob battery??
  9. Think it's detailed in the towbar instructions. It just pulls off.
  10. Got you thinking what exactly?? It's the manual saying auto release with drive off function.
  11. Mine had the following problems. Cam chain tensioner rattle on startup Central locking that had a mind of its own Tired interior Broken rear window regulators Rust on bonnet due to stone chips Clunk on suspension, rectified with arb bushes and drop links for around £30 Aircon inop due to a leaky pipe (£340 + vat from jaguars) No hot air from heater, faulty blend valve, again quite expensive from jag. Noisy cat. It'd done 121k but drove nice and was only £350 with 11months mot so I can't really grumble, you get what you pay for!! Had it 6 months and sold it on for £350 to buy my current S type, a 2006 2.7d SE manual one owner car with full dealer history. I liked the old S type so much I bought a newer one and have vowed to have jaguar cars from now on!!
  12. Not wishing to paint a bad picture but....... Worn suspension Worn interior Electrical problems Gearbox problems Aircon problems Rusty sills Cam chain problems Heater problems I owned a 99 T reg S type last year and suffered most of that listed.
  13. Say no more. Probably never had a car with the feature.
  14. I thought that was one of the alarm perimetric sensors?? There's two in the top unit if my memory's correct.
  15. It's a feature that's explained in the handbook so I see no reason to not use it. I've got a manual car so don't have the feature but I had an auto vauxhall insignia a couple of years ago that had it and it worked fine every time. Who said its a no no by the way??
  16. Part numbers would be gratefully received too. Look forward to your how to post.

  18. Price really depends on what you want fitted. Fixed flange type will be the cheapest then swan neck type then retractable will be the most expensive. Taking into account the complex wiring on an S type you'd be looking around £400 to £800 depending on which you choose. I've got a brand new witter fixed flange towbar in the garage which I'm very confident I can fit myself but I'm still undecided if it really suits the lines of the car. I'd get a quote from your local jaguar dealer and work back from that.
  19. Have you thought of changing it?? Jacksons car spares in ewloe have one in to break and last time I was there it's engine was complete.

  21. Have the garage that fitted the dpf sealed it properly?? I'd be inclined to go back and have them trace the fault. It may also be the dpf bedding in, so to speak.
  22. You're welcome guys. Anything to help a fellow jag owner
  23. The light coming on is the dpf regen cycle due to short journeys. I'd try to avoid too many short journeys if I was you.
  24. Try this. http://download1771.mediafire.com/sd3f13g3qzbg/5gcs6ubagkir7mp/S-Type+2002.5-2008-FSM-Workshop%282%29.pdf
  25. Haven't you got a smart phone??
