  1. The burning smell you get is the heater working. This time of year it shouldn't be working. Also, you'll get that heart stopping moment when smoke pours out of your near side wing making it look like your cars on fire!!! This, apparently is "normal"
  2. Ha ha ha I don't think so!!! Spirited drive on A & B roads.
  3. Theres a guy on the jaguarforum that does remaps in Stoke on Trent, around £150 for a power/economy map. Adds about 40bhp and moves the torque up by quite a bit. Gonna have mine done once I've had my cambelt done.
  4. Have you got an electric garage door?? Think that option was for the lazy americans.
  5. Check in your boot around the battery for water ingress. I'd try reversing it in the driveway just to see if that has any impact on the problem, it may just be coincidence. The S type is prone to leaking into the boot and due to having a fuse box and relays in there it can be bad news!!
  6. 17 in wheels with bigger section tyres make the ride better plus there cheaper than 18's too.
  7. There Valencia alloys. Standard fit on XS models. Look like a nightmare to clean!! Thought my libra alloys were bad!
  8. Or you could go to a scrappy and let e few fall into your pocket like the fuses and relays keep doing in my local yard
  9. The bluetooth module is under the cubby box in the centre armrest. I think the one in the boot is for the voice control. Also, some phones won't connect. Try a different phone model.
  10. Gave you the wrong link. Try this one. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jsessionid=63F86D65FC16AFDBB0524276B4651FC4.eccvas504 Some of the details can be a bit sketchy but it's mainly accurate. Alternatively give jag a call. Here is a contact email address at Jaguar, email her and give her your VIN number and request politely the build spec for your jag. hmckendr@jaguarlandrover.com Hayley McKendry Customer Relations Executive Tel:(+44) 01926 691 855
  11. No problem. You should have the lead already in the boot tucked up into loom above changer location.
  12. Here you go. https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/content/document/view?id=65975&groupId=1666
  13. My local jag dealer only want £32 for a shaped rear and standard front. Not bad imho.
  14. Try this, you have to register as an independent though but it's easy. Pop your vin number in and you can look up build spec, also there's some useful info far fitting accessories too. https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm;jsessionid=8oDj1uvghEFR5vSBFAMkliuS.prs72903
  15. Go careful though. Don't be tempted to switch everything on. Watch this tit and read the comments.
  16. Mine says the same. When I looked up the build spec from jaguar it says no phone prep. If you've got it there should be a module above the satnav DVD player in the boot. Have you ever had your phone connected via Bluetooth??
  17. Search for "audio connectivity module" Not cheap though, there's one on eBay for £380!!!
  18. I have a cruise problem. Car is a 2006 2.7d manual. This is is what's wrong..... get to 70mph then press the + on steering wheel, info display in speedo says "over limit 76mph" and a warning bong starts and next to the cruise Amber light there's another one that is like a speedo with a section covered and ASL in it which starts to flash. Theres nothing in gin the book about it and it doesn't illuminate when the ignition is turned on. When end this is happening I can, with the +&- buttons alter the speed shown in the display but not the cars speed. I phoned rybrook jaguar service dept in chester but I think I got put through to the office cat cos he didn't know anything and could only say bring it in for some £80 an hour digging about!! Had my AA mate put it on his diagnostic machine and no faults were present. It all started last week when, during driving in heavy rain we stopped at a shop and briefly I got the park brake fault in the display but when I pulled the switch on and off it cleared and hasn't been back on. Anyone any ideas as to what is the only blott on an otherwise perfect car???
  19. This is my s type diesel manual. Owned a 99 T reg petrol one for a few months and was so hooked on the comfort of these cars that I treated myself to a newer one as an early Xmas present Old one first then newest one
