  1. These things are sent to test us!!
  2. You can check what your battery condition is in the engineers test menu. turn your key to position 1 and press and hold the computer button on the stalk until engineers test mode comes up in the dash display. then use the Khmer/mph button to scroll through until you get to battery condition. Turning the key off reverts back to normal.
  3. I have the same problem. Also had it happen about a year ago too but it just rectified it's self on that occasion. Was told by an indie garage that when your battery starts to fail the cruise is one of the first things to fail..
  4. I think you press the left/right seek button constantly to get manual tuning then press/hold the number you want it to be.
  5. Post a pic of your stereo.
  6. Hello and welcome. As with any car of that age, make sure everything works as it should. things to look out specific to the S type is lurch with the gearbox when putting it into drive, make sure the gear changes are smooth and not noticeable, it's supposed to be a sealed for life unit but can be serviced and flushed for about £250. Rough running will definitely be down to worn plugs on the right bank as they have a life of around 100k and, due to it being a right faff to change them they get left, even on dealer serviced cars!! (Search YouTube for Stype plug change to see!!) other things to look out for is rust on the sills, they rot behind the plastic covers into the floors and if bad can write off even a 2007 car!!, make sure the heater blows hot and cold as a dccv fault closes the heater water feed, not an expensive job but fiddly! Also, make sure the aircon blows cold as it's expensive to put right as it's usually the pipe that runs under the right bank manifold that wears out, £350+vat+fitting for the pipe!! Try and have the car started up from cold as, although the V6 has a cam chain it's well documented that the tensioner can be noisy due to gunk sticking them up, listen for a tappety noise on startup until the oil works its way round. Again, a flush and new oil should sort it. Hope I haven't painted a bad picture as these cars are amazing and beautiful to drive!! Good luck and don't forget to post pics up when you've bought it.
  7. Really nice job you've done there. Suits the black leather and grey dash.
  8. Yep, just got to sort out the stabiliser bar and a slight water leak then it's trouble free motoring again!!
  9. Now that looks quite good!!
  10. On a 2k mondeo or focus maybe but not on a jaguar!!
  11. Passed! Advisory on slight play in rear sway(?) bar bush.
  12. Mot time again today at 11am
  13. I know, I paid 4.5k for my diesel manual se 18 months ago! the prices then were all over the place., rougher cars with poor spec going for 1 to 2k more. I found out not long after purchasing it that it had two new turbos fitted at a dealer!! They wouldn't tell me the invoice price though. my local indie did my cam belt for £360 inc vat, check with dealers though because they do deals/fixed price offers. Dont worry about the "back belt" as these never go and, apart from running the diesel pump don't cause problems if they do. also, the water pump is run by the aux belt so doesn't need changing with the cam belt.
  14. How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking??
  15. Looks nice. Whats the spec??
  16. Should be a 19mm socket. Post a a pic if you can.
  17. I have the same problem. i think it's running down the door seal where the mirror is and then into the car. ive been parking mine facing uphill for now until I can get a new door seal.
  18. I'll say this only once!!!! MAKE SURE WHOEVER YOU USE TO DO YOUR FLUIDS USES THE CORRECT ATF OR IT WILL DAMAGE YOUR GEARBOX. Im not sure of the exact ref number but if you do a search for jaguar atf then you'll know which to use.
  19. Do a search for type 2 lurch. Also, what's your mileage as it may need a filter and atf change, round about 70k iirc.
  20. Not my cup of tea but your car, your choice. I thought the side marker/reflector was a legal requirement.
  21. Try your front anti roll bar bushes, I had the same problem on my old S type. also, don't use WD40 as it'll atack the rubber, best use a silicone spray.
  22. Early system is a cd based system, facelift onwards have the denso dvd based system.
  23. I quite like the first one in a strange kind of way!! the second, special one is er.... Special, are those cutouts in the bonnet?? also, 3.0 V6 S type R?? Don't think so!!
