  1. I think you press the button to send the window down but keep it pressed for a few seconds then send it up and again hols the button down for a few seconds then it should work. I may be wrong though. A quick press should send it down or up.
  2. That's about right for a 3.0 petrol, maybe a bit more on a run. My diesel is averaging around 38mpg in general tooling around and up around 48/50+ on a run. Worst I've seen was 22mpg but I was racing something at the time!!
  3. A key hole? Think it's to the left of the boot trim as you look at it. Theres also, under the cup holders in the armrest a nice felt lined cubby box if you pull the cup holder out
  4. Yes, it's a standard feature. global open/close is what it's called. Also interesting if your in range and sit on your keys!!! Welcome by the way.
  5. 3rd for black.
  6. I'd be more concerned with your cap lock button on your keyboard, tha nahs.. only joking. The only way you'll find out if there's a problem is code reading I'm afraid. When you say it doesn't come on do you mean on startup? any fault would be displayed in the lcd bit.
  7. Are you Definatly sure you don't have the DVD drive in the boot?? was nav working before??
  8. Mine too, for a standard system I'm very impressed with it. especially when listening to my ministry of sound trance nation cd and fatboy slim when I'm out on my own!!
  9. Ultraviolet blue, when it's polished up it has a slight Violet tint to it. The colour was sold on me the first time I saw it.
  10. I prefer the drivers side but then, I'm biased.
  11. When I look at doing a job on any car I just google it and among the results are links to car forums and YouTube. I only found this forum by searching for aircon fixes on my old S type.
  12. upload to YouTube and post the link. Thats what I've done before plus it's open to a wider audience too. Like so. (me being antisocial and doing 0-60 plus in my old mgf vvc)
  13. I had an auto petrol one then got my current one, 2.7d manual. Absolutely love it!! i get to use all the power and torque when I want, not when an ecu tells me when!!
  14. Yes, that's the one.
  15. I have the 2.7 diesel 06my.
  16. Google the following....... "jaguar dccv fault" its the valve that splits the heat/cold settings in the dual zone climate system, prone to seizing and if left they can burn out dccv circuit board leading to much expensiveness!! not a hard job if your good on the spanners, just fiddly and expensive, about £90 for a good used one and considerably more from jaguar!! There used to be a jag breaker near Johnstown but I can't remember his name, he closed his yard but still had a load of spares when I phoned him up about a year ago.
  17. I've borrowed a coolant pressure tool of a mate and have initially identified a metal pipe that runs under the radiator. Got to get it up on the ramps to identify which part I need. Due to a imminent house move time is tight at the moment.
  18. Good or bad?? I've got a coolant leak and due to time restrictions I need a quick temporary repair. Any advice??
  19. Sounds like a faulty sender in the tank. Should be accessed from under the rear seat.
  20. Did they use the correct ATF??
  21. Courtesy of Wikipedia. The first S-Types ("X200" 1999–2002) are distinguished by a U-shaped centre console and optional touch-screen navigation system in the 2003 and later models. The traditional leaping jaguar hood ornament was optional even though it is approved by the US and EU standards and breaks away in the case of an accident. Subsequent models ("X202", "X204", "X206"; the last digit denoting the model year) have the Jaguar logo incorporated within the radiator grille and a more traditional 'looped' styling for the centre console. In Australia, the "leaper" bonnet ornament did not become available until 2004 Also added on the 2003 model was an electronic parking-brake paddle-switch that replaced the conventional manually operated lever for the rear brakes. For the 2003 model year, the Jaguar S-type was given a six-speed, automatic ZF 6HP26 transmission as well as a revised 3.0-litre V6 engine with 235 hp (175 kW) (US spec) versus 210 hp (160 kW) for the 1999 to 2002 models. The 2003 model featured a revised dash, centre console, and a grille with the Jaguar badge to give the vehicle a more Jaguar-like appearance, and a flip-open key was devised for the ignition. A minor facelift on the 2005 model year featured redesigned front and rear aprons, a slightly modified grille, remodeled rear light clusters, an aluminium bonnet, and a new 2.7-litre V6 diesel engine with 207 hp (154 kW). The windscreen washer jets were incorporated into the windscreen wiper arms. There were no changes made to the cabin interior. 2006 to 2008 models featured no fog lights. Powertrain Edit The S-Type was powered by a variety of petrol and diesel engines. At launch, the V8 S-Type was powered by the 4.0L Jaguar AJ-V8 engine, the capacity of which was increased to 4.2L in 2002. Variants of this engine are used in Ford, Lincoln, Landrover/Rangerover and Aston Martin models. V6 engines used are the Ford Duratec unit which is used extensively throughout the Ford model range (and in Ford subsidiary companies). The 2.5 L V6 engine was not available for vehicles exported to the United States and Canada. Diesel engines are the Ford/Peugeot 2.7L HDi Ford AJD-V6/PSA DT17 which is used in a number of Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Jaguar and Landrover models. From model years 1999 to 2002, the rear-wheel-drive S-Type was equipped with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed J-Gate Ford 5R55N transmission . From 2003, the S-Type was produced with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a six-speed J-Gate transmission that allows automatic gear selection or clutchless manual gear selection. The 2004 diesel saw the introduction of a 6-speed manual transmission; it was also available with the six-speed J-Gate automatic transmission.
  22. Plus one with Peter, looks like you've got a mk1.5, pre facelift car.
  23. It's more than likely the heater valve that's seized. Do a Google search for it and it'll be explained. Not a hard job but fiddly and expensive. Oh, welcome by the way.
