  2. morning Neil OUCH" :( :( i don't have an s type so i cant comment but no doubt one of our s type members will get back to you asap, & to be sure that does seem a lot of book hours for a sump pan gasket, as they only quote 4.5 hours for a full clutch replacement on my x type at a cost of nearly £800 + vat i went somewhere else job done For £490 supplied & fitted so shop around mate ron

  8. it all depends on the year of the car some have electronic with a sensor some don't they tend to stick a fair bit and the eml keeps coming on and i have been told it will help with accelerator. response normally if will give them a good run it sometimes clears it but its not 100% so im taking the car off the rd at the w/end taking it all off inlet manifold etc and give it all a good clean out and put the blanking plate in reset the the code and see what happens. Paul not an mot fail so ive been told and putting the blanking plate in gives the car more accelerator response (quicker) a bit more get up & gone rather than get up & go so to speak . ron
  9. hi all i have been thinking of blanking the egr off NOW some say its best to take the inlet manifold off and clean/flush it all out after blanking egr would love to know what members think about this. as their is conflicting reports ron

  12. i have power fold + heated mirrors on my 2009 se x type that works on the button inside the car but not on the key fob ??? any clues someone Ron
  13. could be a number of things coro try 1. the metal door rods inside or plastics connections may have come apart or broken 2.relay/s 3.c/ locking motor/s 4. lock's but very unlikely. hope this helps Ron
  14. you must have some bad joints if you have already oiled them up, try a spray lube that may work i.e wd40 or gt85 is the one i use for my door & boot hinges etc hope it helps Ron & good luck with it

  16. go onto the internet put in sav nav updates and they come up i got a 2012 /13 disc for my x type works a treat £19.99 hope this help PS if he wants an earlier version i have a jaguar 2008/09 disc that came out of my car i was going to put on ebay for the same price posted well £20 recorded del ? jag sav nav disc are going for stupid money at the moment regards Ron

  19. same here paul i work mon to fri so it will be gaydon for me with the family and the grand kids at least they can have a fun day too. ron
  20. gaydon is for more of a family thing with picnic areas cafe with a fair bit to do though the day so im up for gaydon myself. the factory tours was an option that one of the members chucked in as a maybe but this has too be a week day tour and at £35 per-person if more than nine is booked and if that date is available plus has to be paid up front to confirm booking ron
  21. just spoken to my contact they can get us a discount of £10 per person for a group booking so its £35. but they dont do tours at weekends only mon am/pm to thurs am/pm and one friday am only no weekends at all sorry folks :( :( :( ron
  22. at the moment the tours for the factory are coming out a fair bit of money £45 per person unless i can get one of my contacts to get us a deal but will need to know confirmed members and others wanting to go as spaces are being booked up fast ( waiting for a phone call today so will keep you updated) regards Ron ps which factory
