  2. Hi David let me know where your stuck and i'll try to walk you through it
  3. The fault code was given to me by the seller, not the actual code just the result of the read, so you could be right on the possible fault, I have only just aquired the car so still learning the ins and outs, I thought there was more than one sensor so didnt want to start replacing all if it was just one? I am just about to buy a reader and hopefully this will pin point at least one if not all of the issues and I do agree a faulty sensor can make all the above occur, as for servicing it is due one for sure but looking for a mechanic I TRUST other than main dealer is always the issue, I am tempted to go back the the guys who looked after my BMW M Sport and see if they are confident in looking after the Jag as well, the current mileage 150k and no service history to hand im afraid
  4. Alot of the running gear is like for like but you never be 100% certain but at a cost of £50 for a brand new pump I might delve a little deeper and ill let you know the results
  5. UPDATE I have read a few forums and lead to believe that the MK3 Mondeo fuel pump will fit and work as an alternative to a Jaguar branded one at a snip of the Jaguar cost, has anyone come accross this before?
  6. Cheers guys and I have an excellent Jaguar breaker right on my door step that claims to have the biggest spares for X Types in the country so we shall see
  7. Thanks Joe I am leaning towards the fuel pump as ive recently noticed some petrol odour from the rear, nothing major but you know that hint of 'how much is this going to cost' :)
  8. Cheers Frank and yes it was a bargain and no messing around as it was pre cut no didn't have to re-staple
  9. Hello all, I have just aquired a 2003 Jaguar X Type, petrol 2.1 V6 and there is some what seems to be lumpiness and split second cut out periodically whilst driving. Is there a known issue or could it be something like the fuel filter perhaps? I also have the EML on which I was told is a CO2 issue an again I can only assume it may be one of the O2 sensors? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  10. just fitted a new leather gear lever gaiter bought from ebay for £4-00 and think its looking good and my apologises if I have posted in wrong section as im a newbie
  11. My rear parking sensors do not work and after listening closely to each sensor (faint clicking sound) one of the sensors is dead, so hopefully putting one sensor in and checking connection will solve the issue
  12. It sounds like it is going into limp mode to protect the engine? You can get a fault reader and eml reset unit form ebay for around £20-00 just make sure it covers your model as some say it does yet it certainly does not (garages can charge around £40 just to tell you the fault) so not a bad investment and may mean you can resolve the issue at a sensible price......fingers crossed
  13. I have now for the last year or so used a part worn supplier where they are gauranteed at 5mm or more and got hold of Pirellis and Goodyears both priced at £25 a corner balanced and fitted with no issues, which means a full set comes in at £100 and whilst some people will not like the idea of part worn I have not had any issues or problems
  14. Not related to Jaguar in particular but tracking is always the first thing to do and mine need doing to :(
