  1. Hi gary , yeah its an easy job one in the front of the wheel arch and two at the top of the headlight , gives you much better access as i wouldnt fancy trying to squeeze in while still mounted , the sidelight is inside the high beam hole on and has a stalk to pull it out , the pic i took was rubbish so will take a better one next dark night lol
  2. Hi all , so i did this swap out today to replace the pathetic standard bulbs in the xf , got phillips extreme white vision for the low beam ( cant believe these didnt come with HIDs as standard ) and also swapped the sidelights out for 8 smd LEDs what a difference , will post up a pic when it gets dark , i recommend this easy diy mod to anyone
  3. Hi Paul , similarly test drove loads of CLS models before plumping for the xf , I too was disappointed at the rattly interiors and amount of wear and tear showing on some of the trim , if you can get one go for the 3.0 preferably the s model although the 3.0 in standard form is no slouch , not that the 2.7 is a bad motor or slow just with better emissions ( lower tax bracket ) and the increase in bhp it seems a no brainer , around 13k should get you an 09 / 59 with around 60k on , Good luck with the search
  4. Hi kieth , just bought the same car last week , and it does seem to be more efficient on the vpower stuff , im getting about 32mpg on the usual run about but have had it up to 40 on a longer motorway run , before i was struggling to get over 30 lol still not bad for such a big heavy beast
  5. Hi any updates on this , ive tried also a normal conversion connector to i phone 5 but this doesnt work :-( is there a specific jaguar cable available , i cant seem to find one on ebay
  6. Thanks guys , these places are generally the best for picking up owners tips and fixes , and am curious to see if the jags DPF issues were any better or worse than other manufacturers , I do drive ' spiritedly ' and haven't personally had any issues with any of the diesels I've owned so far although im well aware of potential issues and misunderstandings of certain warning lights , Anyway cant wait to get one as I've test driven a few lately and they are an awesome beast ! Already ive learned to drain the fuel filter and they have no dipstick ?? Lol
  7. Hi all , i just wanted to sign up to hopefully gain some useful tips and info on an xf which I'm hoping to get as my next car , I've been reading up quite a lot of members issues and unsurprisingly the DPF seems to crop up quite a lot , this seems to be a common issue across all modern diesels as does the EGR valves . Id be coming from an accord and the main appeal of the xf is the ride quality , I'm sure ill have loads of questions along the way and hopefully maybe able to share some of the knowledge and experience I've gained from a fantastic accord owners forum over the years
