  1. Hi, My new Jaguar S type is an import. Built here and exported to Japan. It's in a lovely condition it's a 2005. The Speedometer is in KPH, not a problem really I just have to to convert in my head when I am driving. The Imported did kindly put little white dot stickers on the appropriate places for 30 mph etc but I found it annoying, it looked odd. The sat nav talks in Japanese but I do not use one, I like maps. Handbook is in Japanese. I was having problems getting one, none available from Jaguar, thought I was going to have to learn Japanese but have just found one on eBay. But overall a very well cared for car. I had looked a quite a few cars locally and was disappointed at their condition. I need another key so ordered one. I have reprogrammed them in the past for X type. Has anyone reprogrammed them for the S type please? Kind Regards, Julie.
  2. Hi,

    Can you help please.

Had another complain re Halford's cards.

Member was told by Halfords you have to use an app to get discount.

As far as I know this is incorrect.

I advised the member that new cards with bar codes had been sent out.

That Halfords did accept cards but he replied-

    "Thanks.

That was exactly what I said to them, but 3members of staff said that the cards were not used any more."

    Please can you advise me.

    Kind Regards,

    Julie.

      Hi Julie

That sounds odd, will have to contact Halfords tomorrow to see if there has been another change in policy but otherwise it will be a new card being issued to the member.

Thanks for liaising with the member, will contact him directly later on.

      Best Regards,  Trevor

  11. Hi Peter, Good you put my mind at ease, I had so much trouble with Jeep electric park brake (and the electrics in general) I was just a little worried. I will read the manual later just been a bit hectic today. The car I have is in a lovely condition for 2005, only thing I have to sort out is it has only one key. Just sold my old X type. Had a lot of trouble with time wasters and odd people, never advertise on Facebook! Also I have a copy of your book now, not read much yet but enjoying it.😃 Best Regards, Julie.
  12. Thank you. I live on the side of mountain so roads quite steep.
  13. Hi Peter, Could you advise me please. My new S type arrives today. It has electric parking break, have not used one for years. What's best way to do hill start with it please? Thank you. Julie.
  14. Hi Peter, True it could be different, My old S type was like yours it returns to position. Just looked like MPT`s was not doing that so I found the above info to see if it helped. I have seen articles in publications about similar problems but they where on other models. Still learning ☺️ Kind Regards, Julie.
  15. From what I read it needs to be reset / recalibrated.
  16. Hi Mark, Welcome to Jaguar Owners Club. I found an old answer in the forums here for an s type 2004 Driving Position Memory To cancel key transmitter memory recall: 1. Press the MEMORY button: the red LED will illuminate for a five second period. 2. Press any button on the key transmitter (except the panic button), then press the MEMORY button again. Both button presses must occur while the red LED is illuminated. Driving position memory system operating tips • When making adjustments to a set driving position, reset the new position in the same memory channel. • A driving position will only be memorised during the five second period when the red memory LED is illuminated. • Previous memory is erased when a new driving position is entered. • Make sure that the seat has completed moving into the required memory position before shifting the gear selector from the P position, or in the case of manual transmission, releasing the parkbrake. • If the seat memory does not recall correctly, the seat may require to be recalibrated. This may be due to an interruption in the electrical supply. To recalibrate the seat it should be powered fully forwards and backwards, and fully upwards and downwards.
  17. Ah yes, I have heard that from others. A real pain at times.
