  1. Hi John found F32? as well check out video. As far as I know - I am not an expert- To use the cigarette lighter in any car even older cars you have had to turn the key to the accessory position for it to be able to work. They have never had constant power to them even when turned off because doing so causes unnecessary drain on the battery when accessories are not being used Would only be on if hardwired to battery If not fuse / relay assume it would be wiring fault? or unit itself? Best Regards, Julie.
  2. Hi I believe the one in dash is lighter one in console between seats is Aux 12v socket.- might be a fuse that's why its not working. Best Regards, Julie
  3. Cheers Joe Good Advice Thanks Your car is looking good too, a credit to you. I will make sure, as you have mentioned to me before, to get it serviced regularly, I intend to keep the car as long as I can. Like those little moving pics you have on your posts😊
  4. I have been looking for couple of months found my new S type It's silver Cream interior leather Seats 41k I like the older cars just a personal preference, I am a bit techno phobic in some ways. I do not use a Sat Nav, used maps for years they work for me. I like cars to be as simple as possible not too many gadgets and electrical Gizmos.

  8. Hi, John, I have not tried it myself but several people have told me tooth paste with baking soda works a treat. I have used this to remove paint from my fiat when some one scrapped along the side of my car in Tesco`s and it worked Popular mechanics had an article in June https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/a10346/how-to-make-your-headlights-shine-like-new-16649941/ Amazon have a range of products Top seems to be Turtle Wax/ 3m. Sorry I don't know name of American cleaner.

  10. Hi John, found the AA video
  11. Hello Clive, That's a shame have you had a quote for the work?
  12. H John, have found these posts on the S type from may be helpful, My friend pad about £20 for code from dealer. This definitely works in S-Types as well. It's included as part of the "Battery reset document" which is available for download from this forum Quote As an S-Type owner, you'll be aware (I guess) of how sensitive the electronics is to low battery voltage. You'll maybe not know though, what you're expected to do after dis-connecting and re-connecting the battery. I've put together a PDF document which takes you through the procedure step by step. Nothing that isn't readily available elsewhere but just gathered together and (in my view) logically ordered into a single reference. It also includes how to get the audio system working when you don't have the security code I've been asked for it so many times that I though I'd make a thread just for access to that document so here it is:- Battery reset.pdf
  13. Good evening John, Welcome. I am sorry to hear about your wife, my condolences. You have had some beautiful cars in the past. The S type is my Favorite Jaguar. I have just started looking for one to replace my current X type. Thee X type is great to drive, but style wise I really admire the S type. Your car sounds a real looker in Platinum Metallic, and only 61k. I am not sure what color to go for I really like Racing Green and Seabreeze. My husband is not an enthusiast but tolerates my obsession😃 He is more of a Land rover guy. The old type with no frills. Personally I like my comfort, and you can not beat a Jaguar for that! Reds, Julie.

  18. Hi Mason, Welcome To Jaguar Owners Club. Have you tried Ebay? I find a lot of bits on there. On Premium Member Discounts There is an independent part specialist not used him but perhaps he may be able to help. Have seen this company mentioned in another group https://www.autoreservejaguar.com/ I also use Breaker yard, just don't take first quote always the most expensive. Perhaps one of the other XJ members can help you. Hope you get it sorted soon Kind regards, Julie
