  1. Do not blame you! I would not go out of my way to visit them. Better service cheaper prices elsewhere. Had a problem with them about 3 yrs ago. sitting in my friends BMW when she nipped in to the shop. One of the young "mechanics" came out to his friends hot hatch parked next to the beamer, swung the door open quickly bashing it in to the BM with some force. Did not realise I was sitting in the passenger seat. I was not happy neither was my friend.
  2. That is one of my pet hates, not saying please or thank you. Surely if you work in retail you understand that the customer pays your wages - pays to keep them happy. You are right they are expensive, I wanted a new battery cost over £100, bought one on line £58 delivered next day!
  3. Thank you for all your advice Julie.
  4. Cheers Andy will remember that thanks
  5. Hi Joe, Great thanks, I was worried about chipping the paint but manged to lift them and unclip. My car is a 2000 model. All done now thank you. Kind Regards, Julie.
  6. Hi, Is there a way of easily changing the window wipers? I had to lift the bonnet but cant get the wipers to stop in the middle of the screen to easily change the blades. They keep going back down flat. Can any one help please? Thank you
  7. Your quite right. manners cost nothing. I am appalled at the behavior of not only young men but girls now to! Respect does not seem to exist any more. For instance - When I have had to travel by bus, thankfully not very often, I am amazed that young men seem unable to stand up to give the elderly a seat. Manners were something instilled in to us at home and in school. I have always found this site when I have been on it very friendly and helpful. Bests, Julie.
  8. Hi Peter, Levels look OK. Rolls in neutral, on a slight slope no problem. Were you serious about the mouse? :)
  9. Hi Peter, OK thanks - Mine is a petrol though, but may be its the coolant. Its just coming from the one side. Thank you. Julie
  10. Hi Peter. No, no warning lights. The car pulled away/drove OK, have not tried it in neutral yet. When you say about the mouse, the smell was like something had died to be honest.I better check. Best Regards, Julie.
  11. Hi there, My S Type been standing outside about 3 weeks while away. Drove it this morning about 2 miles and noticed a terrible smell when I parked up, did not think it was the Jag. Parking at home noticed smoke white on rear passenger side as I reversed. again the same smell. Is this the brake stuck on due it standing please? Can I fix it easily? Cheers, Julie.
  12. Thank you Peter. I will get some V power and give it a go. I check the oil and water each week, it has not use any up to now. When I bought it In May it had just had a service so had nice fresh oil in it. Kind Regards, Julie.
  13. Good Morning Peter, Thank you, I was just a little worried in case I did any damage to the engine. Regards, Julie.
  14. Hi, My 1999 S Type it heats up very quickly to 1/2 way but stays there never goes any higher. Even after a journey of a few miles and when I stop the Fan stays on for a while. I read the manual and I know it will continue to run for a while but is this normal after say 3 - 5 miles? Thank you. J
  15. Hi Peter, Will try that. These electrical gadgets can be so useful but as you say rather mysterious and a bit of a pain when they go wrong. Cars many years ago, before the computer age, could be fixed easily at home in most cases. My Father did all his own repairs. Regards, Julie.
  16. Hi Peter, The warning stayed on. Still on now.. Regards, Julie.
  17. Hi Ron, Will do Thank you. Regards, Julie
  18. Hi, I have not long bought a 1999 S type. It drives well but traction control message came on when driving up Motorway. It stops fine all levels OK. Is this a common fault with the sensors? Also when backing up occasionally when I pull forward rattle for a short time from the back by exhaust do you think this is just because it may be a little loose? Any ideas welcome. Cheers, Julie.
  19. Hi Ron, Thank you.
  20. Hi Just bought my first s type. Admired them for a long time beautiful car to Drive.
