  1. Hi everyone, sad news to report, my beautiful car as pictured has been written off after a fuel tanker dropped its spare wheel onto the carriage way I was travelling on, I tried to avoid the wheel but collided with it hitting the off-side front wheel, the resulting impact was severe enough to push the A post back and after a thorough inspection by my insurance company the car was deemed a total loss, as you can imagine, very upsetting.
I now run a 2020 Land Rover discovery sport very nice car Jaguar engined but not an XJ. I’d like remain a member as I’ve got my eye open for another Jaguar.
Wishing everyone happy motoring and a happy year.

  3. Hello everyone,  Just changed my car to the long wheelbase version it's absolutely brilliantIMG_0695.thumb.jpeg.0fd6fadd5699cea9f37839d54cff598d.jpeg

  4. Hi Tom, I'm guessing your car is petrol rather than diesel if so, I've had the same problems with previous cars and commercial vehicles. Petrol fume removes lubricant from the cap mechanism over time therefore I now regularly spray the cap mechanism with a liberal coat of WD 40 and I've had no further problems, this could be the same thing your vehicle is suffering from. give it a try. All the best for the coming year Dave
  5. Thanks Phil, an impressive beast, we'll have to wait and see. Regards
  6. Do we know what platform jaguar are usingfor the F-pace? Is it Audi related or Porche or maybe I'm being a little pessimistic. It doesn't look like true jaguar
  7. Thanks Andrew, Like you I'll watch with interest

  14. Evening Ron, Hope you're ok, the owners club shirt that I ordered with the Premium member fee paid on the 5th August, has arrived today, 21st August, however sadly its a "Ford tee-shirt" in the wrong size and colour. Can you tell who to e-mail to receive the correct garment. Disapointed Dave
  15. Hi all, Does Anyone have an idea where I could lay my hands on a couple of Jaguar branded seat protector dust covers, the interior of the Lady Kate is Ivory, so I want to keep her clean during the winter months, I believe jaguar mechenics used to be issued with them when working on customers cars, I just wondered if they were available commercially. Thanks Dave
  16. Hello Peter, I guess not, I'll ask around at my local garage. I know the boys well in there and if I have any success I'll post some pics on here for future referance. Best wishes Dave
  17. Charles, You been a bad boy? How come? Dave
  18. The first car I named was a black Ford Granada Mk3 facelift, year 1990. I called her "Black Bess" cause the price i gave for her was daylight robbery just like Richard Turpin (the infamous highwayman) used to practice on a horse called Black Bess. My wife bought a brand new Ford Mondeo in 2007 the letters on the number plate almost made up the name "Maisie" so that was her name, A Ford Kuga followed in 2009, no name as more important issues had raised their ugly head, My wife died in 2011, 2 more Kugas have followed on in 2012 and 2013, I was searching for something a little special, now I believe I've found her, a Jaguar XJ on a 63 plate, her name? the "Lady Kate" in honour and deepest respect and love to my beautiful wife. Dave
  19. Has anyone out there had experience of removing the door Cill plates from an xj. Mine are a little scuffed and would benefit from a bit of t.l.c and maybe a coat of lacquer. And are they easy to replace. Thanks Dave
  20. Couldn't have put it better myself, Dave
  21. They're a good looking motor the xj, Anna looks great, not sure about the photo without her wheels!!! Love mine already Best regards Dave
  22. Hello Pete, I've brought the "Lady Kate " home today and I can only say she's fantastic. Been going to the lakes regulary over the past 50years and never got tired of the atmosphere there. I can hardly wait till September. Wrynose Pass and Hollister Pass are my favorites All the best Dave
  23. Thanks gents for your experience, Ive used Shell V Power on and off in my Ford Kuga and the results are markedly better. Shell seems to be the cheapest around here as well. Ive never used supermarket fuels for some years now because of the lack of power and you don't know what else is in the mix. Very useful thanks again Dave
