  1. Hi Richard I'm sure you've done this, but if not, have a browse! But of course you will need to investigate more if one of these is of interest http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Cars-/9801/i.html?_from=R40&_sop=15&Car%2520Type=Standard%2520Car&_nkw=x%20type%20jaguar%20diesel&_dcat=18185&rt=nc&Fuel=Diesel regards Steve
  2. Hi Ian Here you go, may help http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYPE-TRITON-18-ALLOY-WHEEL-WITH-EXCELLENT-TYRE/182043984634?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3Dfc566ba5d7864559bfbc85f19c1eeb3d%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D7%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D222046963152 regards Steve
  3. HI Kevin Try The Jaguar Heritage guys, they may be able to offer some help they helped me with my S Type's history Sorry I should have added, there may be help available on here of course! (Sorry chaps ) http://www.jaguarheritage.com/ Regards Steve
  4. Will do Jim If i can capture anything on a photograph I'll post on here Regards Steve
  5. Thanks Chaps Lots of great suggestions, if I cant find the leak or a solution after this then I do have a problem! regards Steve
  6. Hi Peter I was a Football 'Softie?' myself, did try some boxing as a kid, but had to stop 'People kept hitting me!'
  7. I will Jim there are a few spots of rust, in the well, ill get the water out one way or another! and dry it properly (Hmmm... where does she keep her hair dryer ) and perhaps spray around it with some WD40, I don't know what the spare looks like underneath, steel space saver type, hopefully not affected. Am I right in presuming, the rubber seal is just simply a 'Push on' fit? no glue or sealants?
  8. Many thanks Peter Another couple of good pointers, once again I hadn't considered that method of locating were the water is coming in. Again if the weather permits, although its suppose to be naff down here I believe. I think what i'll do this weekend is take out the carpet / lining, and lay paper all around the boot, give the 'Old Girl' a good scrub, and see if there are any tell tale signs (This is why I love this site! such useful help / tips / pointers, and advice) Just to put your mind at rest, I would never get into a car boot, with a view to it being locked! (Don't try this at home folks!) I have shrunk a bit, I'm just under 6' now and as skinny as a rake (stopped working out many, many years ago!) even with the back seats down, my knees wouldn't let me do it anyway Regards Steve
  9. Thanks Jim Some very helpful pointers, never considered the lights The only person who could spray water over the boot would be SWMBO, I'm certainly not giving the boss a chance to have me locked in the boot of a car i'll look for more obvious signs, if no success, go down the Talc route "The seal near the bottom part of the trunk didn't seem to seal properly" is this the bit where the locking mechanism is? Regards Steve
  10. Cheers Peter I had a feeling ide read something about that trick. I didn't know there was a drain hole in there, i'll have a look during the Easter break (weather permitting) Your story about the Escort, reminds me of an old mini, me and the ex-wife had as our first car, if it was raining, you had to wipe your feet before you got out! it was like a colander under the mats
  11. Hi Guys I know this question crops up now and again, but cant find the thread. On Saturday, I thought ide have a go at putting the CDC in the boot (apart from it being to very cold! what a performance trying to get the boor liner out! I just gave up) Anyway I digress, there is water, approx an inch sitting in the spare wheel well, but couldn't see any damp around the carpet / lining, now am I imagining this or have I read somewhere, the rubber seals around the boot, can be reinvigorated with hot water or something? I am presuming of course the rubber seal is the culprit? Any tips, as always appreciated Regards Steve
  12. I put in a cheeky offer for one i just found
  13. This is going to sound quite daft! have you tried pressing the switch that activates / deactivates the stability control? mines is to the right of the hazard warning light switch, I understand the light appears on your dash, when its deactivated?
  14. Hi Jim Thanks but my brakes are fine, I had a look around for Andy. Pagid was another name I came across also (Never heard of them!) Thanks again though Regards Steve
  15. Andy I've had a look as well, stuff I have looked at, seems to suggest 'MINTEX' could be another option for the OEM for pads and discs (or rotors as they seem to be known) also another name crops up 'Brembo' regards Steve
  16. Sorry Jim misunderstood the Paint job thing. In regards to your chrome..... this will sound really naff, well it is really naff, but... if you printed a picture of your car, and used a black marker / felt tip, it would give you an idea of how she would look I did a naff mock up for my topic "SWMBO said Red what do you think" did the job
  17. And when do you get time for sleep ? that's quite a list of things to be getting on with! what colours for the bumpers? By the way, fine looking little lady you got there
  18. Good luck with the MOT, mines not until July. Did my grille last year, made a hell of a difference in my opinion
  19. I have a few bits I'm dying to get stuck into, and just can't wait to start Tinkering! Does anyone have anything in the pipeline, for their cars? Steve
  20. Hi Jon Would be really good to look at and admire the 'Twins' But perhaps the mercenary side of me, saw two identical Limited Editions, same spec etc, as a potential financial opportunity? Who knows, but I just can't afford double the costs keeping her on the road as well as mine. Shame, if I'd had a driveway I would have bought her.
  21. Hi CBers Maybe these will help, I know my car is a lot older, but hey, you never know Regards Steve Fault finding on DB2 network MXAD_2002.pdf ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS - Copy.pdf Power train diagnotics.pdf S type 2003 specfic fault codes.pdf Fault code list.docx
  22. Just found her twin sister! If I could only justify buying her http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-S-Type-200-Sport-Ltd-Edition-Auto-V6-2967cc-2003-03-Reg-Cheap-Car-Bargain-/172131404140?hash=item2813d4c96c:g:aq0AAOSwxp9W4~9N
  23. Bill Are you sure it said "Use Orange coloured liquid" ?? My guess is that would be antifreeze, I think you would have noticed very early on that you had no Antifreeze! I will stand corrected, but I'm pretty sure the liquid in the header tank should have some colour to it. here's another punt that the guy's can answer 'Thermostat' maybe? Steve
  24. Fantastic! News Paul Best wishes to yourself and Marion Regards Steve
