Hi, thanks for replying. I jacked the front end up today and got no top to bottom movement on either wheel. There did seem to be a fair bit of play when rocking the wheels back and forth. A friend suggested either worn driveshafts, diff bearing or gearbox issues. Starting to panic a bit now. I thought it would be wheel bearings but looking less likely now.

Hi all, I've just bought a 2.0v6 se at what I thought was a great price. Has a few issues such as inoperable speed/rev counter etc. The main niggle is when in motion I get a droning noise which gets louder the faster I go. It also translates a slight vibration through the steering wheel. The noise remains whether in or out of gear and also without the engine running. I'm thinking front wheeel bearings, any thoughts?
