Another little niggle today, whilst driving to work this morning the car felt like it was hesitating slightly and i could see the needle in the rev counter going up and down slightly this was driving at around 40mph. On the way home tonight the engine management light has came on. This car has not been used for at least 2 years, any ideas please what it could be.

Finally got my Jag on the road today and first thing to do was to fill up with petrol and this was my first niggle. I found it difficult to put petrol in the tank, the pump kept stopping and had to hold the lever in lightly so took a while to get fuel in. I only put a tenners worth in and went to another petrol station and had the same problem. Also having inconsistent reading on fuel gauge, any idea whats going on here? Then got on the main roads and had a wheel wobble at 60mph so I went and got the wheels balanced and this sorted the problem. Then the left side repeater blew, i think this will be easy to solve though. Any ideas and i will be very grateful.

I have the single cd player and radio fitted to my 2002 facelift model, is it possible to replace it with the satnav. If so what is required to change it and is it easily done.

Thanks, but not finished yet. The 2 top bolts came out easily enough but the lower torx bolts aren't budging, i'll keep aplying wd40 over the next few days to see what happens otherwise they will be drilled out.

Its put back together this morning and the joints reinforced with epoxy resin. I'll leave it until tomorrow to give the epoxy time to set solid. Just gave the bolts and screws a squirt of wd40 on the original grill so hopefully will come off easily tomorrow.

Hi mate, luckily only 2 clips broke and they were on the bottom part. Is it necessary to put epoxy anywhere else where the mesh lays on the grey plastic.
-
Got cracking today and cut the padtics out, this is it loosely assembled Can anyone point out where the epoxy goes, preferably with a picture.
-
Ok thanks, at least its nothing to worry about then.

My next small job is to mod the front end now having done the colour coded boot lock trim. I have just bought a mesh grill off ebay for £35 delivered and seems very good quality. I have also bought a colour coded grill surround off ebay also £35 delivered. I have read that epoxy is used to join the mesh to the surround, I haven't got any in my garage but i do have a hot glue gun. Would this be good enough?

Just like to update this thread that i haven't had any more problems since fitting the switch. Came across a thread that says if you simultaneously press 》PTY and A. MEM then you can do away with the radio code although i havent tried it yet.

Finally got the boot trim fitted today, i found it very awkward getting those 4 pressed nuts off the back and ended up snapping parts of the plastic they attatch to on the chrome trim. Also I think i'll have to get some star washes or something as the red trim is not on snuggly using the old press on nuts. I think it looks better now though.

Yes he used proper jaguar oil or so he told me, however i have no reason to disbelieve him.

Thanks for all the info, the transmission garage rang me today and my gearbox needed topping up with just over 2 litres of gearbox oil due to a leaky pipe when i bought it. Only charged me £86 all in so quite pleased.

Thanks for the prompt answers, what exactly were the 2003 features fitted that you can see.

I took my 2002 2.5 auto to a transmission garage today and he said that he hadn't seen a 52 plate s type with the 6 speed auto gearbox before. He said that it might be some kind of demo car, is he right or did some late 2002 s types have the 6 speed box, mine was registered in November 2002.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I will sort this early next week and update once done.

Opening Boot when battery dead on 2008 XKR Converible
David1965 replied to Neil_54's topic in XK / XKR (X150) 2006 - 2014
My son has a 2008 xkrs and the lock is definately behind the rear number plate, you only need to remove one screw but i can't remember which one. -
My 2.5 s type has passed its mot and the only comment was the rear discs were a little rusty, but thats expected as its been stood a while. I have bought a set of 18" triton alloys today and managed to get the front ones fitted. I'll post a picture when they are all fitted in a few days. Much nicef than the standars 16" i think.
