  1. Hi Andy, I have the same but 2008 face lift. For me the power of the standard engine is perfectly ok for me and dont really see the need for extra power. Also you should probably think about what mileage your car has done and should you be putting more stress on it and how will it effect your insurance. Happy driving. Rod

  14. Hi Les, I dont know the cost as the garage I bought the car from picked up the bill. I got the car checked by our local independent specialist (jaguar tech) and it was them who sorted the problem Car drives lovely now. The turbo incident was 20,000 miles ago. Cheers Rod
  15. Hi Les, I had the same problem with my car, same model and age. Tried such things as egr valve etc but finished up replacing the turbo and serviced the injectors and its been fine since. Hope you get sorted. Cheers Rod
  16. Hi Steve, Worth asking Jaguar garage to check on their system first as I had mine checked by independent garage and they said it was the egr valve. they replaced the valve but the problem returned shortly afterwards. Dont know how much mine cost as the dealer I bought the car from paid for it. Cheers Rod

  21. Hi Les, I have the same model. I really enjoy driving it. Had a few problems that have been sorted quickly. A wealth of help on our forum pages. My car is grey, but I really wanted one the same colour as yours. I tow a 16 feet caravan without any problems at all. I bought it with 90000 on the clock less than two years ago and now done 116000. Love it !!! Cheers Rod

  23. Nice photo of both the Jag and Humber bridge. Just been over it this morning to take partner to Humberside airport for her flight to Schiphol and then Detroit. The bridge saves a round trip of about 150 miles. Good value at £1:50 each way. Cheers Rod
  24. Hi everyone, Now got bill for oil and filter change and replacing crankshaft pulley, tensioner and belt. £350:14 Quite reasonable I thought, given the difficulty of the job. Cheers Rod
  25. just had the same job done on my x type and mechanic said it was a difficult job mainly due to poor access/ Replaced pulley, tensioner and belt and also did oil and filter change. Took car in at 8:30 and picked it up at 3:30 so labour shouldn`t be too bad. He said that the pulley was very worn and if it breaks it destroys the timing case. Just done in time by the sound of it. I will let you know the cost when I get the bill. Cheers Rod
