  1. HI again, Following on from my previous posts on this forum, I originally had Fault Code P1111 Displayed on my code reader and the engine FAULT LIGHT was illuminated, after cancelling the fault with my code reader -on starting the engine the FAULT LIGHT came back on. This time my code reader came up with fault P1647 which is UPSTREAM O2 SENSOR BANK 1 Fault. The same code came up after several attempts to delete it via my code reader. So I conclude this to be the problem, I purchased a brand new O2 Sensor the exact one for my car,,from Ebay cost £29.95 . I also purchased a 22mm sensor removal socket £ 11.70 at the same time. After removing all the bits and pieces that were in the way (2 hours work) I finally got to locate the said sensor -low down on the front right side of the engine, Not exactly easy to get at ,however with some perseverance and scraped knuckles I managed to get the extractor socket onto the sensor, a universal joint and an breaker bar was also needed for the operation,, However Try as I might the damn sensor would not budge,, talk about tight --damn ridiculous -after an hour struggling I finally gave up .and had the task of reassembling all the bits I had previously removed, I was fuming, Why the HELL does a sensor have ti be tourqued up to stupid levels especially as it has a sealing ring is beyond me, Has any one else had this problem ,and how did you deal with it? Im thinking of Booking my car into a Garage ---Probably be an arm & a leg --but no option it seems ---Any help will be appreciated -----thanks ---RingSpanner
  2. Hi again ,my engine malfunction light is ON on my X type 2.5 v6 petrol ,2001 reg, Originally my code scanner showed fault P1111 as the problem, but having searched online I found that this is an engineers code following maintenance work. confusing as NO maintenance work had been carried out on my car. Anyhow I turned out the engine management light using my code scanner to do so. on restarting the engine all seemed ok .but after a minute or so of driving -the Engine management light came back on . After rescanning with my code reader the Fault now came up as P1647. on checking this relates to Air Conditioning Compressor Temperature sensor fault., But does anyone know where it is situated as I don't have a clue ---please help ---Thank you ---RingSpanner

My Jaguar is a X type 2.5 v6 petrol 2001 reg ,any help greatly appreciated -thank you -RingSpanner
