  1. I received mi card within 72 hours of signing up. PM Steve.
  2. Can't access the forums via Tapatalk. Didn't know there were plans afoot to change the site until just now. Was there an announcement anywhere? Thes layout doesn't seem easy to grasp at the moment, especially in the mobile theme, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
  3. Also having issues accessing the forums via Tapatalk. Didn't know there were plans afoot to change the site until just now. Was there an announcement anywhere?
  4. Thought I would start a positive post on what you have done with your Jaguar today. Today I replaced all of the carpets in my boot, as the ones that were in-situ when I bought the car, had a nasty smell in them. I purchased the carpets second-hand from JagBreakers. Fitted new McGard locking wheel nuts purchased from Euro Car Parts - originals were well worn and rusty. Replaced the remaining (16) wheel nuts as well - purchased from Jaguar. Replaced original centre caps with nice new red centre caps - purchased from Amazon. Replaced the tyre valve dust caps with new chrome Jaguar dust caps - purchased from Amazon. Also gave the car a good wash and brush-up, inside and out. All in all, a busy day :)
  5. Saw this on the local news over Christmas. Not sure how much of an impact it will make come May, if any at all. http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/14163232.Two_years_of_lane_closures_planned_for_Brighton_seafront/
  6. :)
  7. OK, thanks.
  8. Sorry, still learning about my car, but is the Webasto a standard fit, or an extra?
  9. I get the odd fume here and there, but what is the auxiliary heater? What would I lose?
  10. Fuse 3? What does that disable?
  11. Excellent :)
  12. That makes sense. I'll have to get a spray. Any recommendations?
  13. Never had any issues with any if my cars using supermarket fuel. They all have to meet the basic standards of fuel, whether it's Tesco, Shell or any other supplier. I've never used premium fuels.
  14. I've thought about that as well, but as Peter says, most people are just car owners these days so don't feel any affinity to anyone else. Perhaps we should put a special JOC badge on our front number plates as recognition :D
  15. I had the rear tie-rods replaced and the mechanic said the squeak as coming from a bush at the front and was squeaky due to the damp weather and that it would last all through the wet winter months, I suggested silicon spray, but he said that the bush was sealed and the silicon wouldn't get into it to stop the noise, so I would have to live with it. Any else any thoughts please ?? Thanks in advance :)
  16. Been thinking about changing the horns ever since I got my S-Type :) Will have to have a look at the Stebel. Thanks for posting.
  17. The last couple of days I've had a squeaking noise (sounds like rubber squeaking) coming from the front, which I think I've narrowed down to be coming from the offside. Don't get it all the time and not always when going over bumps. I tend to hear it more at slower speeds. I've had a look around the front wheels and "wishbones" (?) and all of the rubbers look OK, so wondering what else it could be? I'm taking it to the garage tomorrow to have rear tie-rods replaced, so will get them to check it. Thanks in advance :)

    NUTS !!

So many different makes and types of locking wheel nuts out there!! What size are the nuts on the S-Type please? I thought it would be so much easier than I'm finding it :) Also, what are the best makes of locking wheel nuts? McCard, EVO, another make? Thanks.
  19. Thanks Gordon :)
  20. So can you still use them as fog lights as well ?
  21. Isn't it illegal to have fog-lights on when not foggy ?? I remember many years ago being stopped by the police because I had them on and was told to turn them off. If you're using them as DRLs, then you may get pulled up, unless that law has been rescinded.
  22. I posted a similar question here. The ACM unit seems to be what you're looking for, from the replies I got.
  23. On a slightly different tangent, and to save starting a new thread, is it possible to add a reversing camera to the S-Type?
  24. Thanks Andy. So the ACM's are expensive if/when you can find one. Breakers will be very hit and miss, as I doubt many people had them installed. Perhaps it's not really worth it at the moment :)
  25. ACM unit? What is it and what does it do? Is it only for fruit-based devices?
