  1. hi got my battery for my S-type R from the battery mega store, Hankook AGM, well priced with 5 year warranty and got it next day as wel they have a massive selection and good value cheers Joe
  2. HI You need mystic meg, only a psychic will tel you or you could get it plugged in and get codes read only way to tell for sure, any answers will be pure guess work and a expensive way to fix it Ideally someone with Jaguar IDS/SDD software so all modules can be read and fault found. generic code readers will only read engine ecu, could be else where like trans or module related could be something like a bad sensor, but theres so many things it can be cheers Joe
  3. hi need to get codes read, needs to be plugged into Jaguar IDS/SDD to see what fault codes are coming up could be something simple as low oil level, as when it get hot it expands a bit and might work but every body answers are just going be guess work get it plugged and see whats the fault cheers Joe
  4. hi the aircon sounds like low gas or the fan is not running could be some like a blend flap not working or if its stuck on recirc also worth checking your pollen filter, seen so many where there blocked and limiting air flow cheers Joe
  5. Hi I use Footman James, Very good policy and cover, have my 2004 S-type R insured with them on a Classic policy with agreed value and some modifications declared all for less than £200 you get a massive discount if your a member of the JDC cheers Joe
  6. Hi Battery, the low voltage on cold cranking causes the module to go in fault new battery usually fixes it, will get worse with out one cheers
  7. hi the s-type has a fusebox in the boot not sure if the x-type does cheers joe
  8. hi fronts just push in rears usually have to be turned and pushed if there's a hand brake on them, as there self adjusting cheers Joe
  9. hi not worked on the X-types before but if you need any wiring diagrams have a look here http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers Joe
  10. hi by the sounds of that, if you pull the aux belt off and spin each pulley, you would feel the bad ones also does it go quiet when you put air con on, could be aircon clutch cheers Joe
  11. hi yes the first link, has, but not all of them do, thats why you must ensure there is a fuse in that lead cheers Joe
  12. Hi Try keep the charger itself indoors as its mains and wont like water the battery side of the charger lead could be extended if required best to fit a socket in the boot, so its easy to plug in and just shut the boot but make sure if you put a socket or connect to the battery direct you use a fuse to protect the lead to the charger as this will be connected to the battery if you look on ebay they do, convenience leads with easy to plug in socket and also extension leads if required also another trick is a ball of bluetack over your ignition switch, which reminds you its on charge, as some people just drive off and forget cheers Joe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTEK-Comfort-Indicator-Eyelet-M8-For-All-CTEK-12v-Chargers-With-Comfort-Connect/321743773864?epid=12022759961&hash=item4ae96c60a8:g:84kAAOSwBLlVRMSJ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CTEK-56-304-Comfort-Connect-Extension-Cable-2-5-m/233760606179?epid=20034763116&hash=item366d37c7e3:g:eGAAAOSw3L1fmWlG
  13. hi seen this a lot before, usually only cured by software update its usually ok, but if you let it run low, causes this issue only seen it fixed by getting the software updated cheers Joe
  14. hi usually either a dodgy door lock or the wires have broke in the door shut, where they constantly flex, on the door pivot point cheers Joe
  15. hi there no cut, that a sealing plug, stops water getting in, the green pins seal the plug they will be for optional extras not fitted, you will find lots of plugs like that, but external ones are usually sealed cheers Joe
  16. hi could be one of many things on a s-type, from coil pack, air leak to dodgy abs sensor you need to plug in and see what fault code come up. otherwise its just pure guesswork and gets expensive that way cheers Joe
  17. hi similar setup on mine, but have a Jaguar ctek, with dedicated socket in the boot but you should really put a fuse on the red wire as close to the battery terminal as possible if that red wire get trapped, a few hundred amps will flow and it will burst into flames any time you connect anything to the battery, you should fit a fuse as close as possible to the battery positive terminal the genuine jaguar optional ctek charger comes with a socket that goes in the side carpet, which is also fused cheers Joe
  18. Hi What fault codes are you getting cheers
  19. Cheers Paul, Still got the old girl and still running well Thanks
  20. Hi Just Had some later wheels on mine, also with clear markers and indicators, It looks a lot better.
  21. hi Blue smoke is usually burning engine oil, not diesel, excess diesel burning is black smoke sounds more like bad valve seals or turbo seals if its a tdi if its turbo, checking the pipe work between turbo and engine will tell you, will be full of oil and so will intercooler very unlikely its valve stem seal, they tend to smoke on first start up and on over run cheers Joe
  22. Hi Have you checked the door seals, especially around the glass area some people use a smoke machine inside there car to high light leaking areas cheers Joe
  23. Hi Most problems have been covered before, so using the search bar can find most answers with out waiting some very useful info on here and if you find anything just hit like cheers Joe
  24. hi the xf system is different to the s-type sounds like its corrupted the software and will need Jaguar software to sort it check on the XF group just in case they have any better ideas cheers Joe
  25. Hi, would no bother too much hassle once you swap the engine, nothing on the car will work, because every thing on the S-type is canbus connected so, by losing the oe engine ecu, things that wont work any more, dash, speedo, gauges, fuel pumps, auto box, parking brake, ABS, active damping, stability program, climate, cruise, central locking, alarm cheers Joe
