hi the original jaguar pads are terrible for dust, really bad I used EBC Red Stuff on my S-type R and get next to no dust now, even get better braking cheers Joe
-
hi there all pretty similar, if you put higher wattage bulbs in, you run the chance of burning the front body module out that controls the lights ive used the ring bulbs before and the last, unlike some of the other https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ring-Xenon150-H7-12v-Car-150-Brighter-Upgrade-Bulbs-Headlight-Headlamp/183548940438?epid=19034905506&hash=item2abc5e9096:g:7voAAOSwZddb9qzo cheers Joe

hi its also worth asking if they have done a s-type before they are well known for been awkward for tow bars as the require a special controller module as the rear lights are not wired normal, they use a positive earth which means all the bulbs have a permanent feed on one side of the bulb and the other side goes to the rear body module which switches the earth to bring each light on cheers Joe

Hi The gearboxes are supposed to be sealed for life, which is absolute rubbish well worth changing the oil, will prolong the life but I would only use genuine zf parts, I think your has the ZF 8HP45 I use something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/genuine-jaguar-xe-zf-8hP45-automatic-transmission-gearbox-pan-sump-filter-7L-oil/263773343119?hash=item3d6a1dcd8f:g:3Z8AAOSwBgZdNgHr for a few reasons, it left the factory with that oil, the TCM is submersed within the oil in the gearbox and when you change the oil, some oil stays in the torque convertor and it can only be drained completely by removal only, mixing different oils is always a bad idea cheers Joe P.S, here a link to work shop manual to make things easier https://www.dropbox.com/s/ee2nxkx6fgqmb25/workshop_manual.zip?dl=1

hi the tv module is usually built into the touch screen cheers Joe

hi not sure about the XF, but I think the wheels nuts are the same on my S-type R if there the flat seat ones with a stainless cover, there a bad design, if there tightened up with air guns, the stainless sleeve slips and you can't get them undone, also there reknown for shearing off have a look at the pics below cheers Joe standard ones oe wheel bolts swap them for these, these are solid no covers and are still 19mm so oe wheel brace can be used https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20x-ALLOY-WHEEL-NUTS-JAGUAR-S-TYPE-X-TYPE-CHROME-LUG-BOLT-STUD-QUALITY-20L/322551270259?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144

hi just found this, maybe worth trying cheers Joe These instructions are suitable for XJ XJ6 XJ8 XJR and XJ TDV6 models 2003-2010 The procedure to program the remote fob or fobs is very simple and should take less than one minute. No tools are required. All remote fobs available must be present when the car is in programming mode, so that they can be programmed at the same time as the new fob. Any fobs that have previously been programmed to the car will need reprogramming at a later date if they are not available when carrying out the following procedure. 1. Enter the car and sit in the Drivers seat. 2. Place the key in the ignition. 3. Hold the headlight flasher arm back – the blue “high beam” light will come on the dashboard and the headlights will come on. 4. Keep holding the headlight flasher back and turn the ignition key to position 1. 5. Release the flasher, and then flash the headlights FOUR TIMES. You will hear a “Beep” on the fourth flash of the headlight – this is to confirm that the car has entered Programming Mode. 6. Program each transmittor by pressing any button on each fob ONCE. You will hear a “Beep” to confirm the car has programmed to the fob. 7. The remotes are now ready to use.

hi usually charging the battery fully cures this, but you may need to get it plugged in to read codes, they may just want reseting have you tried switching the ignition on and pressing the button on the remotes, then switch ignition of and try them cheers Joe

hi the 2002 plus cars, the lower shocker bush is in the lateral arm, not in the shocker, pre 2002 cars had them in the bottom of the shocker either way there was no need to touch the track rod ends odds are you tracking is out now, and it will effect handling and will wear your tyres out, if its bad enough cheers Joe

hi its usually the lube in the lock goes hard and stop the mech from working correct ive had it before, I just removed the door panel, and sprayed lots of wd40 in the door lock unit, which seem to flush the dried lube out and cured it cheers Joe
