hi usually get lots of wd40 in the pivot and mechanism then once its moving get sone oil in there aswell they do seize up if not lubricated cheers Joe

hi its hard to say why its happened with out reading codes off the headlight leveling module but if the battery was low that could also cause it, maybe nothing wrong but low voltage fault, because it does the go all the way up, then all the way down, then levels the headlight beam, every time you switch the ignition on only way to reset is with jaguar software, if theres a local jaguar indy near you might be getting them plug in and see what fault code is, should'nt cost too much as its a 10 min job tops cheers Joe

hi headlights stop leveling if you has a faulty front or rear level sensor if the headlights are unplugged with the battery connected or it could be broken adjusters which is very common, improoved ones are available on ebay and are not a massive job to do also the faults above can only be reset with jaguar ids/sdd to get them working again cheers Joe

HI Your better off just disconnecting the battery I've disconnected the battery on my car many times, while Ive done various jobs and I have never had any faults come up or error messages its when the battery voltage gets below 11.5 volts, or if you disconnect and reconnect really quick, causes problems only things you have to do if you disconnect the battery is enter stereo code and reset all windows so one touch works again cheers Joe

hi sometimes if you remove the lock and soak it in wd40 over night then work it with the key they will free off, then put some normal oil in it and should be ok cheers Joe

HI looks like the fuel pump relays not pulling in its controlled from rear body module, the replacement fuel pump module may need programing to the car only way really is to get jaguar IDS plugged, see what you have, also I think you can test run the pumps though the software aswell only other thing, may be work rechecking any connectors you have unplugged, look in the plug, some times the connection/terminal comes loose and is pushed into the plug, so theres no connection theres no after market imobiliser on it, that may be playing up cheers Joe

hi I'm not 100% sure, but I thought the injectors were coded to the car so if the injectors are different or put in different positions, I.E. different cylinder position it wont run cheers Joe read bit at bottom of pic, when the injectors

hi you can get the plug in ones that convert the cigarette socket in to two usb, there on ebay and cheap I fitted usb sockets into my glove box and arm rest, so I can plug items in and there out of sight cheers Joe

hi there quite a complicated setup on the R's 2 fuel pumps, one comes straight on the other runs to top up the fuel pressure on higher boost which is controlled by a module I'd check the accident fuel trip button and fuses, then possibly the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail its a returnless system, no regulator, no return fuel line, work off a pressue sensor and control the pumps ideally you want jaguar ids/sdd plugged in and see what faults there are cheers Joe workshop manual S-TYPE_WORKSHOP.pdf elec manual x2042002.50en.pdf

hi easier option would be to fix the boot lock then you can just put your key in and open the boot cheers Joe p.s. there is a main battery terminal in the drivers side front wheel arch, this one with jump leads you can start the car.

hi its going to be a coil pack or spark plug if its coming up bank 1, then swap the 3 coils from 1 bank to the other bank 2, when it does it again if it changes banks then its coil pack, if its bank 1 again then its plugs personnaly while your swapping the coil packs, I'd put a new set of plugs in cheers Joe

HI The S-type is a great car and with more retro looks when the XF was first released it was just a rebodied S-type, with the electronics just upgraded, it used S-type floor pan, complete with all suspension the S-type is really quite a comfortable car and in S-type R form powerfull and quick Every time I use mine it allways manages to put a big grin on my face cheers Joe

Hi, try locksmiths, my local locksmiths will do keys and remotes, they even repair remotes, they can clone the keys and they work out a lot cheaper, they can also supply remotes and code them to the car, phone round a few, most do car stuff now, cheers Joe
