  1. HI Paul I just clean my leather seats about once a month with gliptone It puts the leather smell back, last for ages and keeps it in good condition cheers Joe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gliptone-Liquid-Leather-Cleaner-Conditioner-Kit-GT11-GT12/251358192920?epid=1444821019&hash=item3a861da518:g:bE8AAOSwxN5WZqKn or these are ok, but dont last all that long https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-X-Type-S-Type-XF-XE-XJ-F-TYPE-XKR-Car-Air-Freshener-Deal-5-for-7-99/321989577189?hash=item4af81309e5:g:9tMAAOSw-zxWp2BK
  2. hi the front lifting points in the pic above are perfect, anywhere on that chassis rail, this is solid no issues the rear lifting point in the pic above you have to be cautious, if the sills have bad rust or rot, that area is also prone to rusting, its quite thick if its ok, but I've seen some S-type completely rot away there, just a bit further in, you have the rear sub frame mounting bolts, this is solid and the area it bolts to does not rust either, I've marked the area on the pic below yellow dot on pic below is subframe mounting bolts, this is a solid lifting area suitable for a trolley jack cheers Joe
  3. hi yes they go very brittle and just break is this the part thats gone https://www.sngbarratt.com/uk/#!/English/FindParts/Families/S-Type and X-Type/12/50/11007/1/10/1 cheers Joe
  4. Hi If it goes from manifold to fuel pressure rail, most probably goes to fuel pressure regulator this alters the fuel pressure dependant on engine load, so no vac, higher fuel pressure, high vac lower fuel pressure if yours is broken the its most probably over fueling at idle, hence the rough idling cheers Joe.
  5. hi here's the touch screen and navigation TOUCH SCREEN AND VOICE.pdf I have lots of info for the s-type if you need anything just let me know lots of info here as well http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers Joe
  6. hi with the headliner, there not the cheapest to get redone, but there plenty of breaker cars out there, so should be easy to find a very good used one its well worth doing the servicing, also this time of year, checking the sills for corrosion, as there hidden by plastic covers and getting the underside rust treated if your after tech info have a look here, masses of info http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers Joe
  7. hi sound like you forgot to swap the transponder chip as well inside you old key, they a black chip, its a transponder, it comunicates with a pickup coil around the ignition key barrel and lets the car start if you hold your old key near the ignition barrel, quite close, youl find it will start cheers Joe pic below chip will be in the slot where the red arrow is
  8. hi Diesels nowadays are not really suitable for short journeys and low miles its lucky you don't have a DPF, or you would have nothing but issues with it all the time for your battery I recomend getting a CTEK smart charger, can be left on all the time and will keep the battery tip top I have one on my jaguar and one on my mitsubishi, my mitsubishi does less than a 1000 miles a year and the battery on that is over 10 years old CTEK also made the genuine jaguar car chargers that came as a optional extra, which I have on mine cheers Joe
  9. hi you can just swap the batteries with no issues it will tell you in the handbook if there is any special pairing procedure required after cheers Joe
  10. hi mine are inline with the rest of the sill the sill jacking points are for the emergency jack only if there used with a trolley jack, they usually damage the lip and most of the time crush the sill covers and floor covers also, there really prone to completely rotting away, the sills, especially to the rear of the car, first signs are rear arches start to rust it worth removing the plastic cover and checking them cheers Joe
  11. hi worth phoning a few places also worth looking on the Jaguar site, as they offer fixed priced servicing, also they only genuine parts, a indy might not cheers Joe
  12. Hi I dont think I'd used it in my STR, but like you say I dont think it would do any harm my car really low mileage and the oil comes out really clean, so would never use additives make sure they use descent oil, only put Castrol edge professional in mine cheers Joe
  13. Hi On the s-type R, the dampers were supllied by Bilstein, and most of the performance modern Jaguars are still supplied by Bilstein cheers Joe
  14. hi if its a hissing gushing type noise, it can be a split hose and its turbo boosted air escaping worth have a good feel round the hoses after the turbos, usually you will get engine faults, so it might not be this other thing it could be just turbo whistling/whine, some car do it worse than others cheers Joe
  15. hi its quite straight forward to do only take 15mins or so video is of a left hand drive car, its on the oposite side but it will give you a good idea cheers Joe

  17. Hi I have a knack sometimes of finding info and manuals on the internet, so if you ever get stuck, let me know but like you say, the "search" bar is really great if you want a quick answer so many issues that people have, have been covered so many times before, so search can give you a instant answer, rather than waiting for a reply cheers Joe

  24. hi personally if it were my car I'd use zf lifeguard 6 and genuine zf parts but if your on a budget a lot of people use this Mannol ag 55 with no issues https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MANNOL-AG-55-2x4L-BMW-Jaguar-ZF-AUDI-Automatic-Transmission-Oil-LIFEGUARD-6/302254726093?epid=11017016899&hash=item465fc91bcd:g:CvEAAOSwWxNYyv1u cheers Joe
  25. hi its worth try to replace the the diesel fuel filter first, that can cause resistance and cause low fuel pressure the maf might just want cleaning, you can get maf cleaner, its a solvent you spray on and it cleans any residue off and completely eveaporates the maf fault is common with people that run a K&N panel filter in the standard air box, oil is transfered to the maf and causes issues cheers Joe
