  1. Hi The XF ones wont work on the s and x type you have to find the ones for the S and X types cheers Joe
  2. Hi I like mine, if you use a phone holder as well, it streams all the sound of your phone to your car stereo my phones android, so you can use the "ok google" to play all the apps on you phone, play next track and loads more, just press the voice button on your steering wheel which mutes the sound, then you can say "ok google" and will do what you ask and play through your car also mine plugged and monted inside my armrest so it cant be seen, as I dont use the hands free part cheers Joe
  3. hi not too sure on diesels, but if it struggling start when cold its usually glow plugs failed, they heat the cylinder chamber up when cold for a set time depending on temperature once it start does it run ok till you stop it, if engines hot it should start even without glow plugs though also when was the last time it had a diesel filter changed, if it getting clogged that can make it hard to start also maybe worth plugging in and seeing if there are any engine management faults code, which will help you find the fault cheers Joe
  4. Hi If it looks like a radiator, then its low coolant warning, there a switch sensor on the coolant tank check the connections may just want cleaning, as they corrode if they get wet your oil pressure sender, only fix is to replace it really may be worth a phone round a few breaker see if you can get the parts cheaper local maybe cheers Joe
  5. Hi The newest dvd for the s-type and x-type is 2012 they stopped making them after that, no money in it for them I assume cheers Joe
  6. Hi I've used a geartist GB01 Its gives full hands free, but like you I use the bluetooth in my s-type to make and receive call, but the can turn hansfree off on you phone for the bluetooth device gb01 its a bluetooth fm transmitter, so I found a spare gap in the fm lower end, you can choose any fm channel, then you can stream from your phone to the car fm stereo, the sound quality is really good, no noise, there about £20 there are cheaper out there, but the sound is good quality and value for 20 pounds cheers Joe
  7. Hi I'd be interested see how much 4 genuine jaguar arms are fitted cheers Joe
  8. Hi I found this manual if it helps 2008XFWorkshopManual.pdf cheers Joe
  9. Hi Jaguar don't do them, they want you to replace the whole arm have a look on british car parts https://www.britishparts.co.uk/ and you can get them on ebay, cheers Joe
  10. Hi You can replaced the wishbone or just replace the bush itself, no need to replace the whole arm, you can get all the individual bushes now, I just replace what gone the ones in the arms and wish bones generally last, the bushes in the bottom of the shockers can go more regular, as they carry the whole weight of thew rear cheers Joe
  11. Hi All them faults are tied to the faulty wheel sensor as soon as the wheel sensor is fixed/replaced the faults will clear and can be reset if you catch the cables, they can be damaged easily, bit its prooving who done it Don't think its tied to the low battery, if it is it would clear on it own as soon as the battery is charged its worth leaving your battery on charge over night cheers Joe
  12. Hi You have to edit them before you upload them with some thing like photoshop or paint once there uploaded you cant generally edit them cheers Joe
  13. hi if the a air bag there, it will say on it, you want some contact adhesive or some spray adhesive it depends what condition the material comes off in, if it leaves the backing behind, it might not look very good once restuck and you other option might to replaced it with a used or new part there are sites that will sell you the material, if you google it cheers Joe
  14. HI It would be easier to refurb or repaint, if your calipers are working correct you would have change hubs, brackets and discs to fit upgraded brakes, maybe also brake pipe's also as this is a modification your insurance would need to know or they would void it if anything ever happened cheers Joe
  15. Hi If there's a Airbag there, then I would disconnect the battery first, make sure you have stereo code first it should just be clipped in, start from the top and work your way down looked on jaguar JTIS and thats not clear at all cheers Joe
  16. Hi I would get it checked with a oil pressure gauge just to confirm you do have oil pressure running the engine with out oil pressure will destroy it quite quick oil pressure sender units are common to fail, but sender and oil pressure switch failing together would be rare could just be some faulty wiring, but first thing is to confirm you do have oil pressure, by removing the sender for pressure gauge or oil pressure switch and screw a pressure gauge in to double check Just had a quick google on your car and your car might not have a oil pressure switch, it just has a oil pressure sender, so as this does both pressure and oil light, this has most probably failed and i would replace this first have also found a wiring diagram if that helps cheers Joe wire diagrams jagxj1995.pdf
  17. Hi At least with the repair service you will get a guarantee the inside mechanism floats on a damping system just out of curiosity, have you tried a CD cleaning disc in it first, you can also get a bit of dust inside it and it can stick to the laser that reads the disc there usually available for less than a £5, its a cd disc with fine brushes on the disc and it will clean it, maybe worth a try for a fiver cheers Joe
  18. hI Don't think they did, it does not seem to be year related some early's ones are in perfect condition and some later ones rot terrible ad vice versa at lot of it is where the vehicle is kept, damp and condensation is the biggest cause cheers Joe
  19. hi I would swap the front wheels with the rear wheels first and see if the noise stays at the front cheers Joe
  20. Hi There usually quite robust and trouble free but they do fail with age, there's a couple of ribbon cables inside, one could of fail giving you this problem did it fail while it was playing or after you changes some of the discs cheers Joe
  21. Hi The cable goes to the two catches on the slam panel, it goes to one latch, straight through to the other latch on the x-type you can jack it up, reach up from under neath and move the catch mechanism to one side and open it, then do the other side as well, cheers Joe
  22. Hi usually I would of said its a one of the cylinder not firing right or a air leak causing the engine to run lumpy at idle, causing the shake, but if its running perfect maybe not Check the engine mounts, if one has failed, then if you grab the engine, cold, there will be movement if one has failed, could also be the rear gearbox mount as well, that would give the same effect cheers Joe
  23. Hi Its usually the back up sounder thats causes the alarm to go off There nicad batteries inside that fail, cause voltage problems and setting the alarm off You can replace the sounder but it needs programing if you handy, I've split them before and replaced the battery inside for a new one, then resealed the case with polyurathane adhesive and cured the problem Your fix above also works well, if you know someone one with jaguar IDS/SDD software they can plug in and also reprogram a new sounder or disable the sounder as well cheers Joe
  24. Hi as with most cars check its all quiet, diesels with high mileage can suffer with dual mass flywheel problems, rattling engine/gearbox, tend to go quiet when clutch is pressed if its a all wheel drive model, take it for a test drive and get it up to 70 mph make sure its all quiet, also put some load on the engine, put it in a higher gear and put your foot down, this is the most common time that the car gets a limp home mode fault or engine management light check all the electrics works, some electrical parts are expensive last check the sills, there hit and miss really, there well hidden under a plastic cover, some cars sill's are known to completely rot out, no matter what year it is cheers Joe
  25. Hi Sounds like your dual mass flywheel might be on its way Thats the symptoms for it, the flywheel will rattle and when you press the clutch it presses against the flywheel making it quiet cheers Joe
