  1. Hi I'd check the battery, also be tempted to remove it and check the connections, could just be a bad connection also, if you have the code, if it needs one, I would also disconnect the battery and reconnect it, that could also reset it only other proper way would be to plug in and see what fault codes there are cheers Joe
  2. Hi Usually OE ones have a valve some have two, one prevents the oil draining back when the engine stands and the other, if it has it, acts like a bypass, if the filter gets too blocked sometimes the oil lights comes on as it fills the filter, but only one or two seconds on older cars, I use to pull the wire off the ignition coil and crank it till the oil light goes out, then replace the wire and start it, but its not that easy on modern cars you did the right thing as not to run it and change it back Oil filter in one of those things I allways like to use a Genuine Jaguar one. cheers Joe
  3. HI and Welcome Sounds like a low battery, Its the biggest cause of problems on the s-type I charged your battery over night, no need to disconnect the battery, just put it on charge If it cures it, it may be due for a new battery You could check battery voltage and read what fault codes you have, but I'd try charging the battery first, it the most common faults for modules going into fault, switching the ignition off and on should clear it, but it will be back if the battery getting tired and low cheers Joe

  10. Hi Sound like a common elecy window/central locking fault At a guess the wires in the door shuts, have broken, open the the door and wriggle the wires gently, while pressing the window switch, if they start and stop working, odds are some have snapped usually you can unclip the rubber protection boots to expose the wires, some may be visably snapped, if not if you pull on them, some will be stretchy/elastic and break best way is to use wire crimps and crimp them, some people will strip, twist and solder them, which is a better repair/joint, but will leave the wire more prone to snapping, as the soldering leaves the copper cable slightly softer and will snap. cheers Joe

  12. Hi I picked up a like feed from the fuse box Also if your fog/drl has 3 wires on it, 1 feed 12v for fog and 1 feed for drl and 1 earth, if you have connected them to the original fog wiring, then when you switch the fogs off, the drl will also go off, as the jaguar switches the earth off, which will turn both fog and drl off cheers Joe
  13. Hi very nice cheers Joe
  14. Hi I sprayed the insides of the sills, with wurth cavity wax, creeps in every where, stops it and will save them long term cheers Joe
  15. Hi and Welcome Simon It may be worth swapping you expansion tank cap, you may all ready done so with the new expansion tank but it may be the cause of some of the leaks, if the pressure in the system is getting too high, due to a faulty cap cheers Joe
  16. Hi Found this while looking through JTIS Its in the Pre Delivery Inspection Here stype_pdi.pdf but more interesting in the section " effects of battery disconnection " I found this below So if your car is driving strange after disconnecting the battery and its a auto, it may be worth trying may be worth adding to the battery reset doc cheers Joe
  17. Hi I used the standard Jaguar relays, micro relays like in the fuse box, picked up about a dozen from my local scrapyard for a couple of quid the relay 1 converts the negative switched to a positive switched and add relay 2 if you want the DRL to go off when the main lights come on converted my fogs to led DRL and LED fogs, I also converted the indicators to DRL/indicator, here a link to my conversion, which can just be unplugged when no longer wanted DRL/INDICATOR relay number are correct for jaguar/ford micro relays cheers Joe Fogs I used on my S-type

  21. Hi If the x-type is like the s-type, its because they use switched negative earth so you will need two relays to get them to work, the jaguar uses a permanent feed to the light, then the control module switches the earth to bring the light on if you get stuck, let me know and i will do you a quick drawing cheers Joe
  22. Hi It needs the park position reteaching, needs software plugging in to do it If you leave the switch in auto, every time you get out, the steering wheel moves out of the way and when you get back in, put the ignition key in, it moves back to the memory position best option is to leave the switch in column postion, then it wont move when you turn the ignition off cheers Joe
  23. Hi That run should do it, its not the speed you need, just keep it in a lower gear and keep the revs a little higher when the DPF get blocked and regens, there's a heater inside the DPF and along with some higher revs, the higher temp generated, burns the soot off, into ash and clears the DPF as for the oil quantity, which jaguar are you talking about cheers Joe
