  1. hi Just look on autotrader and ebay and what similar cars are fetching then adjust if the one your looking has better points cheers Joe
  2. hi if you look in the engine bay, down the drivers side of the inner wing there are 3 aluminium pipes, rigid ones, if you follow them, they go directly to the heater valve its a lot lower on the diesel. on the diesel im sure its more in the wheel arch area behind the plastic cover, below the fuse box cheers Joe
  3. hi might help if you tell people what car, engine and what year it is some better picture might help as well cheers
  4. Stacker martin your looking at the wrong item, sounds like aux pump your looking at find the dccv, they all have a 3 pin connector and the valve will either be a 3 port or 5 port also it could ve a combination of dccv, climate module and wiring thats causing it cheers Joe
  5. Hi rear parking sensors, either a bad sensor or a dodgy module, especially if the boot gets damp petrol gauge may be a dodgy fuel level sender, theres one each side, check the connections, just needs the back seat lifting, you can put the dash on these in diagnostic mode to test all the gauges on the dash performance would start with a good service and go from there, rear plugs are under the plenum, so they dont always get changed, sport mode can be down to how it ws driven previously, if left in sport mode when driving slow it adapts to that driving style, in sport it raises shift points and should drop a few gear when floored and go all the way to the red before changing gear, if it working right. Again a good service works wonders, some people avoid as service part for the zf 6hp26 not cheap, avoid cheaper pattern kits, they always leak and cheap oil causes all sorts of problems. cloudy headlights get your self a 3m headlight restore kit off ebay, about 25 quid, will bring them back to new, all you need is a drill and some masking tape to protect the paintwork if you need any workshop or electrical manuals look here http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers Joe
  6. hi new member usually introduce themselves here there is a section for jaguars forsale, you be better off putting it in there good luck with the sale cheers Joe
  7. hi need to get it plugged in a lot off issues with headlights , need reseting with software, plug in and it should tell you on a lot of these if you unplug a headlight it stops everything working, you can only unplug a headlight with battery disconnected cheers Joe
  8. hi still sounds like a dodgy alternator you need a meter and check the battery voltage while the engine is running, should be 13volts to 14.5volts if it drops with the lights on to around 12 volts, then the alternator is duff if your with the AA you could get them out free and they will check alternator and battery and tell you wha up cheers Joe
  9. hi clutch will be either the master cylinder or slave cylinder or even the flexi host to the slave cylinder if its slave cylinder on the gearbox, then they will leak all the oil out, same with the flexi hose, if theres no leaks anywhere then its master cylinder seal failed, swap bleed and you good to go starter motor will just be sticky on the bearing on the end of the starter, usually giving a good clean will cure it if you want any manuals there all here http://www.jagrepair.com/ cheers joe
  10. Hi Hope there genuine ZF parts, pattern parts are really common to leaking, also not using ZF oil lifeguard 6 can cause all sorts of problems hope it comes with some sort of guarantee cheers Joe
  11. hi if you check on ebay there are sellers that do genuine zf kits you will need a new filter/pan, new updated pan screws, mechatronincs sleeve and 7 litres of ZF lifguard 6 genuine zf parts will not leak, but cheap copies will cheers Joe
  12. hi a good quality car port with support legs would be better than a car cover long term you wont get damp with a car port because your not blocking the cars ventillation, also car cover are know to marking the paint long term, where they rub also get a descent smart charger like a ctek, to keep the battery charged cheers Joe
  13. hi you need to plug in to see what engine codes you have the engine run quite hot anyway, 90 plus, you would not beable to touch it and if you opened the cap on a perfectly running car, it would blow all the water out, as removing the cap, will drop the pressure and drop the boiling point so the water would flash off, also a stuck thermostat would not cause a eml light, you would get a message saying its hot get code read could be absolutely anything cheers Joe
  14. hi try auto reserve jaguar, they carry a lot of good quality used parts cheers Joe https://www.autoreservejaguar.com/
  15. Hi There should be no lag what so ever with a supercharger, its allways on boost because its mechanically connected, theres no spooling up as like a turbo the supercharger is directly connected to the crank via a belt, so its allways creating boost proportianal to revs, the F-type uses a twin screw supercharger, which is perfect for the job and should create boost all the time if you have lag or its hesitant, there may be a issue, could be a split hose or air leak or even a slipping supercharger belt cheers Joe
  16. hi if you want reliable mapping that wont damage the engine, then you want it mapped at a proper place and fueling check on a rolling road had my daily car done local to me, all setup on rolling road with great gains, map suited to my car for £235, some people offer generic maps and the fuel is not checked which can cause problems for future reliability cheers Joe
  17. hi the amount of time to charge the battery will vary on how low the battery is, but should take no more than a couple of hours, if the battery is healthy you cant calculate how long it will take to charge a battery going off the AH rating of the battery, you can only calculate how long it will take to go flat from fully charged. because of the different states of the battery, from flat to fully charged. I have a Jaguar CTEK charger, which if the car has been used, once the charger is plugged in will go to fully charged and the monitor state in about 30 mins and there only a 3.3 amp charger, if the battery were a bit low, down to 12.2volts would only take just over an hour to fully charged state. The CTEK charger can be left on long term because it does bulk charge, then drops to a trickle charge, then completely knock off, with no charge and only monitors the battery voltage, no current, then once the battery voltage drops to around 12.2-12.4 volts the charger kicks in again and trickles up to it knock off voltage, so even if you have had it connected to you battery for 24hours, does not means its been charging for 24hours, if its a healthy battery it many of only charged for 2 hours in that period, depending on battery state, older the battery, the more the battery will discharge and the ctek has to kick in to top it up. also worth mentioning, make sure the battery has the factory breather still fitted, which vent the explosive gases vent outside the boot area, usually the pipe goes behind the rear bumper, this is usually not a problem without a trickle charger, as gas is only generated as the car is driven and general ventilation will get rid of it, but if your car is store in a garage and not moved, it can create gas in you boot, hence why they fitted a vent pipe. cheers Joe
  18. HI rear module has nothing to do with the imobiliser chips in the keys lock unlock is done by door module in the drivers door and imobiliser is done by engine ecu and dash, they are both part of the pats security system imobiliser coding is very rarely lost, unless you have had Jaguar ids/sdd plugged in and pressed the wrong buttons swapping the dash, engine ecu or gearbox tcm could also cause this you need to get it plugged in with Jaguar ids/sdd to see what the fault is and only this software can fix it if it has somehow lost the transponder imobiliser codes cheers Joe
  19. hi if there both same year should be plug and play but if not you may have to use your old seat module as they may be coded to the car cheers Joe
  20. Hi coolant has to be OAT long life, usually orange you can buy it ready mixed or concentrate where you mix it with water cheers Joe
  21. Hi Wow Never seen that, only time seen these fail, is when they either get low on oil or overheat due to a water leak. Even when they have been abused, not seen that, they will happily handle 750 bhp with a KB supercharger. love mine good luck with the build cheers Joe
  22. hi you can get polishing cones that go in your drill bit of t-cut only takes a few seconds and should be like new cheers joe
  23. hi without been there its hard to say but try auto reserve jaguar for a used complete j gate they have been great in the past cheers Joe
  24. hi try auto reserve jaguar, parts are all guaranteed cheers Joe
