  1. Hi As silly as this sounds but I allways keep a power extinguisher in the boot they take next to no space up they do make a mess, but there work well on fuel fire's, letting one of these into the grill would starve the engine of air and it should stop you can get them for less than a tenner these days and I carry it for peace of mind really got mine from halfords at a £10 and they should have 5 years life, check the date when buying one cheers Joe
  2. Hi Looking good, that must be some jetwash, has it washed the rear number plate off they can be a bit of a handfull when its wet cheers Joe
  3. Hi Fleabay of course cheers Joe http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-BBS-WHEEL-TRIM-STAINLESS-STEEL-FITS-JAGUAR-PORSCHE-VW-MADE-IN-UK-/152407100676?hash=item237c2bcd04:g:qa8AAOSw3ydVrmKy
  4. Hi you either have a dodgy remote/sticky button maybe or dodgy boot lock but the dodgy boot lock, or anything else, should set the alarm off if your alarm is not going off, if it has one, then the only way you can open the boot, with out the alarm going off is by the remote anything else should trigger the alarm do you have a spare remote, try using that cheers Joe
  5. Hi they go from £150 up to about £200, but there £400 new you should get as a mininum acm module, audio in/on off switch lead, ipod lead, power cable/stereo adapter lead, usb lead and mount, fibre optic lead, instructions also there double sided sticky pad to mount module, some screws to mount usb mount and audio in/on off switch and a rubber grommet I have one of these on mine you can still use the cd changer or the acm, through the cd changer screen, you can also use jaguar voice, I use a 16gb flash drive, with all my music on it in mp3, all in different folders its very good http://www.dension.com/jaguar/startupguide16-4-09v2.pdf http://www.dension.com/jaguar/AM 9W93 18C941AB.pdf cheers Joe
  6. Hi the only one really is jaguar IDS/SDD and a mongoose lead Cant remember what i paid for mine, but british diagnostics was where i got mine from, http://britishdiagnostics.co.uk/ they sell them on ebay as well you can get the leads cheaper on there own and the software is available on the internet for free with the mongoose lead, you can do everthing the dealer can, as its the exact same software cheers Joe
  7. Hi I take that back, them 2 pipes are £90 each, so ebay or a breakers for them its number 7 I think you need, if you look on sng barret there just over £90 also if it was ok before it went to the garage, they should foot the cost, they broke it and left it unsafe cheers Joe
  8. HI If thats pipe is under pressure its dangerous, cable ties get very brittle with heat and it will break in the near future if any fuel were to contact the turbochargers, then you would have a serious issue, turbochargers run really hot if its coming off then the pipe clip has broken, these are designed to push on and click into position then you press the different colored part, to remove it I would get a new hose clip end, can't be much its only plastic cheers Joe
  9. hi post a pic up of you car, showing the wheels and we should be able to recognise them if your going to buy a wheel, I'd get the same one, odds are it will be a similar price cheers Joe
  10. Hi usually most faults will clear when you turn the engine off and on again have a look here http://www.bluejag.co.uk/S-Type Instrument-cluster-diagnostics.php you can bring up diagnostic faults codes on your dash, this might point you to the fault cheers Joe
  11. Hi It should work, you would have to try it but most locksmith nowadays can clone the transponder for less than £30 and most can program the existing transponder thats in it, also to the car, and remote at the same time If there's someone near you with Jaguar IDS/SDD, they can program the transponder of the new/used key to your car and could also program the remote at the same time cheers Joe
  12. Hi and welcome Post some pics up Cheers Joe
  13. Hi Cheers the titan xtr 5w30 seems good value at £35 for 10 litres cheers Joe
  14. Hi a 5w30 that meets WSS-M2C913-B or WSS-M2C913-A, as jaguar recommend Which is usually 5w30 A5 oil Cheers Joe
  15. Hi What sort of topic is this??? Where are the pictures, we like pictures and pictures speak a thousand words I'd be interested in what these are like, as I'm looking for some myself Cheers Joe
  16. Hi AM what's that then?? Only kidding, I'm not sure how it works in a modern car stereo, but it use to be that Am and Lw use a internal antenna and Fm use the external antenna, the aerial Do you get a good reception inside your home, if so it might be a bad connection on the aerial or there's a problem with the aerial booster My s-type uses aerials built into the rear screen and then they go through a booster, then to the stereo, if the booster has failed or has a bad connection, it might struggle with am channels, but be OK with Fm as it's a lot stronger signal Cheers Joe
  17. Hi It's a shame you don't do 5w30 in jaguar spec Cheers Joe

  21. Hi You would have a right nightmare all your ecu's talk to each other and are coded to each other the 3.0 engine would need its own ecu, so it would need programing to the car, transmission, traction, abs and many other ecu's you would have to speak to a jaguar dealer to be sure swapping the engine is the easy bit, getting everything to talk together and run is a different matter cheers Joe
  22. Hi At a guess, the plugs will be different, It went facelift about 2002 and most of the electrics were changed have a look on ebay for seats and see if you can see the plugs, to check if there the same cheers Joe
  23. Hi What wheels does your car have I would say the cheapest option would be a used alloy off ebay, the space savers are ridiculously thin and there selling at over 100 pounds on eBay. You will get a alloy for a little bit more and a jack and wheel brace should be less than 50 pounds Cheers Joe
  24. Hi I'd say the linkages are either worn or dry, might just need all the joints oiling there like a clip on ball joints and when they get dry can make it notchy also they can come loose and make it difficult to select gears here is a link to a Jaguar x-type workshop manual that covers it, which can be downloaded http://www.the-colliers.net/docs/public/guides & manuals/Jaguar Workshop Manual X-Type 2001-2009.pdf hope this helps cheers Joe
  25.
