Hi Phil Ctek do some good car battery chargers I have a jaguar one, its a ctek one, with a jaguar logo on it the jaguar kit comes with a socket you mount inside the boot and connect to the battery, through a fuse if you connecting direct to the battery, just make sure it still has its vent tube fitted, it a tube from the battery that goes into the tyrewell and out the back panel, when you charge batteries you get a explosive gas, it should vent out the back panel, behind the bumper, just check its still there, as some people forget to put them back if they have had the battery out. it ok to charge the battery with it still connected, make sure it a smart charger, not just a continuous charger, as it will just boil it dry cheers Joe

Hi Paul Is there much difference in weight between the two cheers Joe
-
Hi So that means the bumper could also be different let us know how you go on cheers Joe
-
hi Think it will fit, as wings and headlights are the same the bonnet has slight contour differences, metal ones, humps behind each headlight go further back, aluminium ones the humps behind the headlights are shorter and theres a raised curve that goes from the grill to the corners of the bonnet, which the steel one does not have there slightly lighter, but are more prone to corrosion, due to the reaction between steel and aluminium only way to tell is try and fit it. post some pics up as you go on cheers joe

Hi Try getting someone to move the wires in the door shut area, they tend to snap wires there where the door keeps opening and closeing if nothing working, it might be a break in the 12v feed to the switch pack cheers Joe
-
Hi I get it plugged in to see if there's any faults logged, might just need faults clearing thats where I'd start is the engine management light on cheers Joe
-
Hi If they list them you can use them, got no experience with the XKR My S-type R had all ways had genuine Jaguar pads fitted, they worked well and had the occasional irritating brake squeal, but I ended up swapping over to EBC pads, red stuff, solely because the jaguar ones gave lots of brake dust, the EBC red stuff, you get next to none Mintex pads have been out for years and have proven braking qualities. I have a lot of parts from british car parts and can recommend them https://www.britishparts.co.uk/ just out of curiosity, what makes you ask the question cheers Joe

Hi the fault code will tell you which one to replace P1646 is not listed on my list you need to get it plugged in on IDS/SDD software, jaguar diagnostic software same with the abs fault, get it plugged in on IDS/SDD and it will tell you exactly where the fault is, usually a wheel sensor also if its a sensor on the abs, this can give you a engine management fault like limp mode, because it uses these for transmission and engine cheers Joe -
HI Paul I fitted some in peugeot, there a bit brighter and have slightly blue light off them, there no where near as bright as HID bulbs don't think there worth the £20 most are selling for cheers Joe
-
Hi Give us a clue, what car, year and model we talking about cheers Joe
-
hi have you checked the tyre pressures, can make quite a difference on a heavy car Ive known them sometimes not to seal on the rim and one might have a slight leak just check the tyres as well, if there directional, some times they have rotation arrow on them the tyre fitters should of checked these, but they might of got missed cheers Joe

Hi some stereo's if you get the code wrong 3 times will lock you out for 30 minutes and every time you get it wrong after that it will double the wait time. 1hr, 2hr, 4hr if you can get it out and power it up, it might ask for a code, after the time period do you have a pic of the stereo or make and model cheers Joe

Hi I think if had ones of these you could easily remove the trim on the boot lid to expose the boot release solenoid you could tie some nylon type fishing line, to the solenoid arm, which will still allow free movement, then go toward the boot hinge that pulls the boot open solenoid, then down the boot hinge cover and down the side of the seat. so if you get stuck out, you can open the rear door and pull the line at the side of the seat you pulled in most cars that had cable pull boot had this as standard for emergencies cheers Joe
-
hi I'm not sure there if there standard, but the mirror has 4 wires for the mirror movement motors, 4 wires for mirror movement motor memory, 2 wires for heated mirror, 2 wires for electrochromatic dimming and lastly 2 wires for power fold, that a total of 14 wires so you see a lot advertised saying 14 wires in the connector, so if it got 14 wires, its wired for all features, so its sure to work with every thing and you can upgrade to the power folds as well you could ask paul, "Raistlin" , who does a lot of retro fitting on the s-type and also you could try Denis (The Jag Den) on this forum, who may have the parts to sell. cheers Joe

Hi Best advice I could give is look on ebay, gumtree and autotrader, see what similar model cars are going for and adjust the price, if your has better feature's, such as optional extra, service history and any recent work its had. there no point making a price up, because people won't pay it, you have to make yours competitive with what similar models are going for all ways highlight the good points of yours like recent work and history cheers Joe

Hi water in the boot is common on early s-types its not the boot seal usually, it leak in around the back lights if you look at the light, the top edge, look at the rubber seal, where the black part of the light is, between the light and the body, there is sometimes a gap in the rubber seal, as the water runs around the boot and down the lights, it will enter the boot here. cheers Joe
