Hi my s type has the premium sound system, speakers are by alpine and the sound and bass is excellent I checked the manual and it has a total of 10 speakers and two of those are subs in the rear shelf so you should be able to upgrade you speakers if wanted better sound cheers joe

Hi If your not able to get back in, then the only way i think is with SDD/IDS jaguar software dont know if theres any body local to you who has it, a jaguar dealer will do it and it should only cost 1 hours labour I'd of thought disconnecting the battery for 30mins would of cured this but you have allready tried it cheers joe

Hi Don't know much about induction kits on the x type but I do know you need to fit one that draws cold air from the front of the car If you just slap a big K&N cone filter on it, it might look cool and sound great, but I can guarantee you will lose power, due to sucking hot air from the engine bay you want greater flow but the air temp needs to be cooler just by fitting a K&N replacement panel filter in your standard air box, enlarging the airbox opening and fitting a cold air duct from the airbox to the front area, will gain more benefits than any open type filter in the engine bay. cheers Joe

Hi Geoff I bought a geartist GB01 off ebay it was about £21 and is great basically its a car hands free with bluetooth and fm transmitter you pair your phone with it and and set it to any blank fm signal, then tune to it in the fm radio station, the quality is great with no noise or interferance its great to play all the music off your phone and on mine when the phone is on the dash i can use the " ok google " to play anything on my phone by voice, get google to send text messages and to set a navigation point in google maps, you can use basically every thing on your phone and the sound comes out of your speakers in great sound you have the option to use the full hands free but i uncheck that, as i use the built in handfree from my jaguar s-type, i just select all the sound from my phone to the car stereo, to play music, basically all the sound from your phone is sent to the car speakers as i dont use the phone hands free, mines mounted inside my armrest, out of sight and plugged in the 12v socket really nice , here are some links off ebay, might be cheaper on amazon cheers joe

Hi cats usually fail when they have run lean, they get too hot and melt, usual culprit is a failing lambda sensor can cause a one bank to run lean LPG has the same effect as well, lpg cars can run hotter and cause higher exhaust temps, melting cats and other common problems are valves on lpg cars industrial gas and lpg engines usually have special valves to combat this cheers Joe

Hi that usually sounds like the thrust bearing on the clutch, but then i noticed you've got a diesel most diesels have a dual mass flywheel, basically the flywheel is in two pieces with rubber between them, stops noise and vibration but as the cars get older the rubber perishes and you get the noise, can be expensive to fix if the noise stops when you press the clutch very lightly it could be thrust bearing if you have to press all the way its most likely flywheel, both jobs will require gear box off and it would be sensible to fit a new clutch while the box was off it might worth checking the level of oil in the gearbox, when you press the clutch in, the internals in the gearbox stop rotating cheers Joe

Hi Just check the usual, some diesels have issues starting from cold, so see if engines cold when you get there also my biggest worry would be sills check both sills, as the covers hides a lot of it, have a good look around the bottom seam if the sills are great, then all most sure the rest of the car will be rust free check all the electrics work, these allways make a better bargaining point and check head light adjusters move up and down, the adjusters break inside the head light, can be fixed but another bargaining point and as with every thing check service history, also check tyres, if its got descent tyres, then it will tell you previous owner was'nt a skin flint cheers Joe

HI can you get back into the hidden menu, by pressing the two buttons you should still be able to get back in, you can uncheck navigation in options and it should be ok cheers joe

Hi Ive used it to get me home before, but i don't think i'd use it in my jag, I'd have it recovered first. it works well if the leak is in the radiator and seals it quite good but if its one of your hoses leaking the it won't seal usually, they expand too much with pressure cheers Joe

HI Has you car got the touch screen display, if its the same as the s-type you can bring up engine fault codes up on that cheers joe

Hi I'd allway's recommend a new belt, mainly because you don't want it fail this time of year, while the weather rubbish but if you want a quick fix, 1 really short shot of wd40 will cure it for a for a while, aim for the inside of the belt, makes the rubber a bit softer cheers joe

Hi yes its pricey, but i think price will drop on it its quite a new model at the moment as its just come out with HDMI on it it also has 2 video in on it so you can add other stuff like reverse camera or anything with video in I just want the Hdmi in, so i can use my android phone on it, then with google voice, I can access everthing on my phone, handsfree, voice controlled. cheers joe

Hi like every thing else its old hat now and there no money in it for jaguar they want you to upgrade to a newer car, with newer gadgets on later xf's you can add poi and speed camera's with a usb flash drive there no money in it for after market people either, every body got a free app on there phone that will do a lot better for free, apps like google maps, copilot and tomtom all these do it much better with free speed cameras, traffic and much more I want a NAVTOOL, this interface's with the nav unit in the boot, then i can just plug my phone into the hdmi and it all comes up on the original jaguar nav screen but there a bit dear still, at £299 all in shipped to the uk cheers Joe

HI I think it can be done, but its very complicated you need a kiwi file editor which will edit the kiwi files on the jaguar sat nav disc, where poi are stored then you can add the speed camera database off pocket gps world then once edited you would have to burn it to a new dl dvd started to look into it myself, but not had chance cheers joe

hi Ernest did you try disconnecting the battery, again, waiting a while, then reconnecting sometimes if you don't connect the battery up in one shot, it can confuse some of the ecu's worth a try cheers joe
