  4. Connect to the tube which comes directly from the pump and terminates via a multi connector under the bulkhead. I have tried to send you pic attachments but they will not load for some reason....good luck
  5. Mohammed, did you have any luck with my suggestion... be good to have feedback.
  6. Mohammed I have exactly the same car as you and had the same problem. Its usually caused by the washer pump filter getting blocked with the windscreen washer additive turning into a gel over time. My solution which worked for me was to back flush by removing the the small washer pipe and connecting it to a garden hose pipe using a reducing connector (see photo 12mm to 6mm)..... you will then see all the crud come floating up in the top up filler tube..... The more time consuming option would be to remove the wheel arch lining to access the pump and clean the filter itself. I have since stopped using screen wash additive and not had any problems since....... Good Luck
  7. Dave...Try this...it worked for me....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXd-nHAYRZc
  8. Can anyone offer advice please (2006 S type petrol) ...My engine warning is on so I have checked the fault codes and it comes up with P2444 and P0430...it seems to be indicating a fault on secondary air injection system stuck on bank one....can anybody tell me where this air pump is ? and could it be down to other associated parts.

  11. Hi Bill, welcome to the club.....A while ago I commented on independant Jag garages around Bolton/Manchester area .........over the years of owning several S types I have used "Jagman" at Platt Bridge, Wigan. for servicing, repairs etc. He also sells various used Jag parts on E-Bay etc. ... if anyone can sort you out with spotlights, he can. (Anyone in the Manchester, Bolton, Wigan area I would recommend http://jagman.co.uk/...used them regularly over the past 6 years with no complaints.) Their address.....Jagman, Platt Street, Platt Bridge WN2 5DA...(Contact: Dave)
  12. Good Morning Peter My next door neighbour when I was applying the polish asked the same question ....maybe you could try google and search for blue shoe polish/creams, there seems to be lots of choice including various coloured leather polishes. I know iv'e suggested this for black cars but not sure it will work on other colours - your decision Peter ! it might be worth a try for a few ££
  13. I have recently had my front bumper repaired and resprayed (2006 black s type xs ) ...the garage had done a brilliant job but it put the front end to shame with all the white stone chips especially on the bonnet which resembled the sky at night. Then enquiring about a respay, the guy suggested I should try a trick of the trade and use black shoe polish paste. Having just finished and with additional coats of Poorboys + Carnauba wax the result is amazing.....hundreds of tiny white chips have disappeared.....worth a try chaps
  14. Anyone in the Manchester, Bolton, Wigan area I would recommend http://jagman.co.uk/...used them regularly over the past 6 years with no complaints. Their address.....Jagman, Platt Street, Platt Bridge WN2 5DA...(Dave) I also use a Jaguar trained mobile mechanic named Ian Caton...Cato Auto's Tel No 07709 345351 Ian is an excellent mechanic, does not overcharge. I have been using him over the past 8 years on all family cars....no job to large!!! He is based in Leigh area.......the down side is that he is always very busy and not always able to do urgent work.
  15. Andrew Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I think you could be right regarding a faulty door actuator. Recently when I lock the doors using the fob they immediately unlock, this will happen several times before staying locked. I will follow your instructions to identify which actuator is the the culprit.....the down side seems to be fitting a new one. I've read in a forum online its 3/4 hours labour.....see link below. http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/rear-door-lock-actuator-fix-w-pics-faq-65657/
  16. Paul Thanks once again for your reply and advice...... On a similar vein, I wrote this article in the forum so that anyone caught out in a similar situation would either remember to leave the drivers window down a few inches, carry a spare key or join the RAC etc. ......Nobody seems to know "exactly" why it auto-locks, but be prepared for if and when it does.
  17. Christopher Thanks for the reply and the suggestion that it may be caused by a duff battery. The battery is only 12 months old and is a quality Bosch type. I suspect its down to a glitch in modern over complicated technology. I have spoken to Jaguar dealers and they say it could be one of several things...so book it in and pay £100 + per hour for investigation. I will live with it for the time being now iv'e got my spare key. All the best to you.
  18. Paul...thanks for the information..much appreciated
  19. Paul Forgive me for being a bit thick, do you mean it can be sorted using a diagnostic machine??
  20. I'm sure this has happened to others and is probably somewhere else in the forum... Yesterday I went to collect my S type after having my alloys powder coated. The guy had kindly started the car to warm it up and parked it in the doorway of the garage. After paying the bill i attempted to get in the car, Suprise ! all the doors had locked them selves. After a lot of head scratching I called the RAC (this was 5.30pm) and bear in mind my car was blocking the garage exit and 3 of the guys had finished their shift and needed to drive pass my car which proved impossible. The RAC chaps turned up 90mins later and using a device called a Tibbe Lock Pic managed to open the door in minutes. Needless to say by which time we were all ready for home. I didn't have a spare key, so today I have had a spare blade cut and hidden it on the car just in case this fault happens again....at least I can gain entry without having to call on the RAC again. I have done this many times when de-iceing the car on the drive with the engine running... so I suppose the lesson learnt is leave the drivers window down sufficiently to access key. Finally, does anyone know why the auto-door lock kicks in, or is it just one of those things with modern technology.
  21. I had quite a bad leak so had to get it sorted. I was told there is no point in just changing the gasket because the sump tends to deform. The price at my local independent Jag garage to fit new sump, gasket and labour was £280 + VAT
  22. Can't wait for the outcome...its better than coronation street!!
  23. These are my 2 beauties...the one on the left i had for 5 years and gave to my son last year after his car was written off. The one on the right I bought last year and absolutely luv it. it came with full main dealer service history and runs like a dream.
  24. Tony I found a guy in St Helens and took it to him....it only took about 10 mins and the charge was £16...but not sure he is still there. If you google it "jaguar key fob repairs" there are a few places ...eg..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-4-Button-Remote-Flip-Key-REPAIR-SERVICE-S-X-Type-XJ-XJR-XK8-/191724845628?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 You can also see how to do it yourself on youtube Good luck
  25. I had a similar problem with my key....it turned out to be the micro-switches had failed in the fob itself. You can buy the repair kit on ebay for £6...easy job to do it your self, just need a good soldering iron and a steady hand.......or there are people around who will do it for you for around £20-£30
